They make us use circle hooks for stripers here in Maine. I lost so many fish trying to get used to using them because of the muscle memory formed from years of jerking the rod to set the hook. Now that I have learned to use circle hooks they are not so bad.

I have a question about catching live shiners. I’m guessing that you catch them the same day . My question is how long does it normally take you to catch enough before you start fishing?

Hope all is well Roland, watched you for decades. I have a lot of respect for you, but you have to agree the laws are becoming a money grab for companies. It's a joke now.
You have to fish like a little girl with circle hooks. Not the old school way as we were tought. Now it'save the fish.
