In this video, I show you how to fish a fluke as a topwater lure for Bass. A soft plastic jerk bait, commonly known as a fluke, is one of my favorite lures to fish as a topwater lure. This means rigging it weightless with a light-wire hook and fast-twitching it across the surface. I like to use this technique in the early summer months for schooling bass, and when they’re located in areas that have too much vegetation for hard baits with exposed treble hooks.
As many of you know, I am one of the co-owners of CPF Lures. In this video, I’m highlighting our version of the fluke that we call a 5″ Shad Jerk in the color of Tennessee Magic Shad.

CPF makes great lures! I would like to see a video on “using lures I don’t use much”—just show the action, the presentation, and whether you caught fish or not. Example: weedless spoons; spooks; hard jerkbaits; etc.

Thanks for the vid! Perfect timing…
Top water’s my favorite
