My Profile:

I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

  1. I’ve used this type of bait for years, the only problem I ran into has been it twist your line really bad. So I started putting a small swivel around 16 to 20” up the line this stopped the problem.

  2. Soft jerkbaits have been my most productive lures this year…topwater has been awful, likely due to low water conditions….6-7" Googan Dart has got me multiple 4-6's & a 7 lb'er in the spring….Trophies, for Ohio…sorry Googan haters, it's a great bait 😂

  3. Hey Matt. – just a request for a future you tube. My lake has about 30 man installed telephone piling stumps with brush added. Most are in 8-12 feet of water. Would like advice on how to approach fishing them – Toss a worm right at the piling and let fall, or throw past and bounce across the bottom. Shade side vs sunny side, etc. I want my presentation to be the best it can be vs others fishing the same spots. Thks.

  4. Great tips! Love fishing flukes. Assuming this techniques work with slug-go’s as well? They’re old school but still work
