I love swimbaits….I hate those packaged without a clam to keep the tail from being bent and then half the package won’t swim correctly! Sooo, I have switched from the RI skinny dipper to similar baits packaged in clams! I think if more of us did this then all the manufacturers would start packaging them better without adding that much to the cost of the bait especially if they’re made in China!
Appreciate the tips. Recent cold weather is still in the 30s at night. I'm looking forward to trying the swim bait soon. I used the Magdraft all year last year and didn't get a fish. These techniques will certainly help. Thanks for sharing.

I've been doing good at the mouths of creek arms targeting those pre-spawn bass that are staging up. I'll work moderately deeper water (15-18 ft) with a 1/8 oz swim bait jig head and either a 4 inch Swing Impact or a 3.5 Rage Swimmer have done a lot of great work for me. Slow roll for a few cranks, let it pendulum back down, maybe give a couple of subtle twitches, slow roll for a few cranks, rinse, repeat.

You guys are starting to sound like Fishing commercials. When a guy with a BUBBA T shirt tells me to use a light med heavy rod. Not a medium or a medium heavy give me a break. If your that dialed in more power to ya but a medium didn't work and a medium heavy didn't work give me a break.

Don't discount the ol'school Tube bait (3/16) if they go cold on the paddle tails, especially in clearer water. 👍
And be especially watchful for bites on the initial fall.
I literally just posted a video a few days ago of me crushing them on a mag draft. They were stacked up on a rock pile near a spawning flat. Great tips!
