The plan was to fish Lake Wylie out of the South Point Access area. Little did I know that ramp is closed for construction until March 2023, so I had to adapt and overcome. I eventually put in at the Buster Boyd Bridge Access Area with the intent of working on some deep water offshore tactics, but things have a way of not going to plan…

We've all had a crappie day lol sux sometimes.
Fishing lake wylie when its muddy is futile.
Have had pretty good luck cranking riprap this winter on Wylie. But it鈥檚 been kinda hit or miss the last few weeks.
Offshore man. If I could put it together consistently like I can the shallows…dangerous I would be. I stay away from offshore poor clarity. I am too bad at it right now (without a jig or deep crankbait at least). Not going to lie, it was a tough couple of weeks out there for me recently. Four trips with just three fish. My confidence was shook after being at an all-time high. It's coming to an end and I am ready for spring. Told you already, but good cat man.
Another tough day on the pond Josh but thats all part of it. Not sure which is worse – catching Mr Skunk or catching Mr Whiskers and having him annihilate a perfectly good A Rig – HA. Tight lines coming soon to you! <><
Yeah, on my part of the lake the level has been been up and down and muddy most of the time. Most have been hitting the points on the main body, not seeing much catching for all of the fishing!馃槑
I wonder if it's the cold that's difficult or the constant cold/hot switcheroo lol I haven't caught anything all winter basically
Good show at least you鈥檙e out there. Nice cat fish keep it up see you next week
I've had some luck with white squarebills, white chatterbaits, and Ned Rigs. But it's been different every day and I've been in clear water.
I haven't fished ton past 4 weeks, broke my index finger on my right hand & doing so upgrading to the PA12
I haven't fished lake Wylie yet, it looks very muddy. Is it always dirty? We have had a lot rain in my area. Clarks Hill, lake Russell & Murray are pretty clear water all the time. Except for Murray up river. Decent size catfish.
Some days, anything on the end of the line is better than nothing. 馃榾
