Epic fishing in early Winter! These fish started feeding when it got warm! Come along for a fun day on the water as we adapt to changing conditions and catch a ton of fish with power techniques!
This time of year most anglers start slowing down or even put their gear away. That’s a huge mistake! Fishing during the Fall to Winter transition can be amazing! There’s less angling pressure than Spring and there are still a ton of fish to be caught! From glide baits to lipless, these fish were still feeding like it was early Fall!
Below you’ll find links to the exact baits Matt used throughout the day. We’ve also included the exact hooks and equipment he was using with the lipless. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Comment number 100 here.
I have a small landscape company and one of my customers has a large private pond than NOBODY fishes. I started fishing it late 22 after working for her a year or so. This lake ecosystem is going crazy and has gone untouched for years. It's full of bass and slab bluegill. Not too many catfish I've caught. The winter here in GA has been fluctuating but I've gotten 3 or 4 days of warmer weather. After catching 1 and 2 pounders all morning I launched a blue speckled lizard and pulled in a 6.8. He was healthy. Not even a pound away from my pb but best winter bass for sure!
Keep fishing!
I wish I lived on a body of water, so I could easily fish all the time. I'm considering moving.
Few people know that Matt was trained in MMA since he was 1 1/2 years old. He was touted as the future of Muay Thai before tearing his ACL.
Thats when he started fishing.
He wears flips so he’s always ready to sleep anyone who looks at him funny.
And those are the feet of a heavy weight fighter. (or a Flintstone)
How shallow was the back water?
Looking for that link for that size 5 hook. You put on that TN60 and did not see it. Saw a size 4 and 6 from the hyper wire. Hook me up.
Did tackle warehouse ask u to catch an s-waver fish and say it looks like a lite trout cuz they are always out of stock? Jw
It Has Rained Here In South Carolina For 2 Weeks,No Fishing For Awhile
Great channel. No nonsense. No ego. Good information. And you let the fish go right away. Thanks
Great info in the video, but as someone who’s not necessarily new to fishing but new to being able to go offshore, it’d be awesome if you guys talked about boat positioning some. Like when I’m fishing a drop off, should I be casting deep and retrieving uphill or vice versa? Just an idea
How deep was you keeping the boat?
I’ve yet to catch a bass in winter. As a bank fisherman it’s so hard to reach those deep bass. If anyone has some tips, I’m trying to get my first winter bass this season!
Hey, just to let you know I pulled the trigger on that Shamano SLX swimbait rod and it is nice! It's super light. I had asked ya'll which rod should I get for just getting into big swimbait fishing. I haven't been able to go try it out but I'm stoked. Thanks!
Any thoughts on the Duo Realis lipless?
What was the water temperature please and in future videos could you please give the temperature.
Matt, think this will work on Headwaters, Stickmarsh/Farm 13 ?
Thank you, Matt!
You should always mention water temperature
Great day! I am inspired.
You ought to bend the barbs in on the hooks or buy barbless hooks to make it more of a sport catching and releasing. I've enjoyed it over the years and its easier for the release. You seem to be relentless enough bringing them in.
Mad man not wearing boots
I hate watching these videos bc it gives me so much confidence and then i skunk

but i cant stop watching them.
At the 7:00 mark, what kind of structure are you fishing? Looks like you are in the middle of a cove. Would love to know what depth you are in and what are you casting to. Great vids!
When do we get a flip flop buyer's guide?
Just bought 100 bucks worth of metal baits cause of you guys lol……been waiting for videos like this. Thank you for the education….I've learned a ton from you guys in 3 short months!
Got my new casting combo in from tackle warehouse sale , curado mgl 150xg & Expride B 6' wp" med heavy. It's unbelievable how light that set up is if I didn't know any better I wouldn't ever thought it was a med heavy!!! Got them for great price my best quality casting combo now by far!
Why a tn60 vs a tn70? Bait size?
Great job Yeah I think that bladebait would’ve killed them I noticed you unhook your fish differently when you got to the glide bait
Good stuff as usual!
Stellar Yo
Holy sheesh ..”that Rod has the WHIP… it has the whip “ “let me tell ya all about it!” What rod is that Matt!?
Matt/Tim, I’m looking to buy one high end rod that will allow me to use as many techniques as possible. What is your recommendation? Thanks for everything you do. Lee up the good work!
Got a question not related the to content of the video. Looking for a single rod for all types of 1/4-1/2oz but mostly 3/8-1/2 jigs but mostly casting and ball finesse with the occasional football jig or swim jig in a pinch. I bank angle in ponds and lakes with submergent and emergent grass and wood. Very few rocky sections. Reel TBD but looking at JDM Shimano SLX DC XT or Curado MGL 150 but open to suggestions on that as well. Have been considering the Expride B 7’2” MH or Megabass Orochi XX Braillist but 7’5” may be hard to cast at times from the bank
