These are questions we get constantly so today we’re showing you the top rods every angler should own. We’re explaining the different lengths, actions, and powers so you know how to get the most for your money when you’re shopping for rods.

Choosing 5 rods proved more difficult than we expected. Matt and Tim had no problem deciding on the first 4 but when it came to that 5th rod they just couldn’t agree. The first section is dedicated to versatile high-end gear, the second to mid-priced combos that bring the best “Bank For the Buck”, and the last section, to “budget” options that far exceed exceptions. 1. Man my first ever fishing combo that I still have and use is a 5’6 zebco slingshot😂 I use it for my soft plastics but looking for a better spinning rod combo and my casting combo I love using is a 6’10 medium lews rod, gotta say I love using it for my crackbaits and jigs and other things, Gotta say this video helps a lot thanks guys 💪🏽

  2. Both solid points, glad to know I picked the perfect 4 rods to get first though, let’s me know I’m doing something right and gives me some confidence in the sport as I am a solo angler , thank you for the video gentleman

  3. I have a 6' medium action fast tip Ugly stick that was gifted to me but it struggles with big top water or big spinnerbaits. I want to get a spinning rod that will target more of the bigger lures for bass and pickerel and that can handle some walleye and maybe small musky. any suggestions? Im torn between 7' medium heavy fast spinning rod or a 7' medium rod.

  4. I have 1 spinning rod and 1 bait caster and I catch fish every single time I go lol. I change baits and use them on whatever I want to use them on and they work the same. This stuff is over kill. Just go have fun lol

  5. BIG FAN of the channel and this video. Thank you for the content you create! I did have a question I could really use some help on. I want to buy a new bass rod and right now I only have a Shimano SLX medium heavy rod with a SLX DC reel. I really love the Daiwa Tatula Elite and the price point. I noticed that you recommended the rod as an all around casting rod but not as a spinning rod. Was this to create more variety as far as rods? Or is there a reason specifically it is better as a casting rod? Would love an advice! Thank you guys!

  6. I need some advice. I have a Spinning Rod for finesse, I have the Lews skipping/flipping reel with KVD c5 rod, I have the revo Ike 6.1-1 with 7’3 delay/composite rod, and I think I’ll get the Lews Mach2 Combo which is 7.5-1 with MH Rod. I have a Revo Rocket 10.1-1 that I need help paring with the right rod. I was thinking 7’3” heavy for frogging but was wanting you input on what the best rod would be for the Rocket?

  7. Love you guys but… I’m a fishing gal and you never address me. You always say “thanks guys”. Now that that’s out of the way, when telling us your 5 rod line up you were kind of all over the map. I wish you would say “rod one, this length (s) paired with this ratio reel for these baits targeting where.

  8. yall deserve every sub yall get, honest advice… would love to be out on the boat with yall just learnin. this is as close as it gets !!

  9. Why don’t you guys mention action? Fast/xtra fast/moderate, etc.
You also keep mistakingly refer to power as action. There’s no “medium action”, it’s “medium power”.

  10. Thanks. These are good choices and we appreciate the effort. I will be keeping away from Bass Pro equipment. I was talked into buying $150 combo and the pole broke on my first fairly large fish. Lost the pole and the fish. Youch. Maybe I should have bought a Zebco.
