The Best Way To Catch Bigger Bass Right Now!!

Spring is on the horizon and bass are shifting toward the prespawn. During this period there is one simple trick you can take advantage of to catch more and bigger fish! Focus your attention on red (and orange) lures! From chatterbaits to crankbaits, spinnerbaits to jigs, these bold crawfish imitators should be a staple in your fishing arsenal!

The color red is the biggest trick in Spring bass fishing. If you’re on a clear water lake, focus on a ghost red. If your water is recently turned muddy, focus on the bright reds and oranges. If your fish don’t want to chase, add some red to your jig. Its remarkable the difference that this one little trick can make! We catch a TON of fish on red in the next 4-8 weeks and we don’t want you to miss out!

Below you’ll find links to some of our favorite baits to throw in red patterns. We’ve included the exact color names for each bait, as well as a couple of the rod and reel combos we use to fish them. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

  1. It really depends on where you're fishing and what the fish are eating. Where I live in SE WI we don't have red craws or shad. We have green or blue craws and flathead minnows. Imitations of those colors are what works in my neck of the woods.

  2. My best Smallmouths lately have come from orange and brown, in an Arkansas clear water reservoir. I'm using muted colors and clear craw cranks…deep-x 100, 200 and 300's depending on depth. Firecraw jackhammer with green pumpkin spunk shad has worked in certain situations too.

  3. Thanks for your valuable time to educate Fisherman and Fisherwomen.
I just want into remission from Stage 4 Cancer ♋️. When I was Diagnosed, Doctors gave me 3 weeks to live. God Bless 🙌 me with another Miracle. I'm able to fish the Professional Team Texas Team Trail. Can you recommend me some Fishing Sponsors 🎣.
    God Bless 🙌, Timothy

  4. I went fishing today and use just about all those baits, we seen a few fish by ball of shads on our fish finder but didn’t get them to hook but just a bite. Water temperature was 45degree cloudy air temperature was like 54degree.

  5. Love your videos. Keep them comming. Clarcks hill lake also called Strom Thurmond lake on the border of GA. and Sc. Would love to see you guys fish the spawn down there. Just an idea!

  6. Hey Tim, just wondering if the LV 5oo and the TN 70 are best used as a yoyo bait or just as effective on other retrieves. Please help me out if you can. I don't have enough money to buy everything even though I'm also a tackle junkie and my collection continues to grow at 54 years old. Just trying to save a couple of bucks. Love you guys for all the great content and much success to you.

  7. I agree with so many of the comments on why bass eat red baits. But the fact that so many manufacturers are making them has nothing to do with it works. The fact that all of us are on the red band wagon buying them is why they are making so many red lures.

  8. Tim, here in South Florida we don’t have crawdads so I don’t see red being used here. Mostly green, blue, black, silver, gold or a combination of these colors but not red

  9. Red in spring is BS. You catch them on red because that's what you throw. Not saying it's not a bad color to throw as it is very visible in certain conditions.

If you don't swim in the ocean, you won't get bitten by a shark.

Red lips in cold water and in spring has absolutely nothing to do with eating craws. Really surprised someone as experienced as you is spreading that rumor about the red lips.

  10. I dont do very well on red baits and I live in Louisiana lol. The bite is amazing on sapphire blue, today I went through an entire bag of zoom z craws in that color on a 1 ounce swing head. I think it's a visibility thing but black, white and chartreuse just don't produce like that bright blue. Neon green is also a killer color for dirty water it's like chartreuse on crack, the red eyes go ballistic for it. I have a dalton special with neon green on the belly and I've caught 2 fish at a time on that bait more than ive caught 2 at a time on a-rigs and donkey rigs combined.

  11. You go through all these baits that’s awesome you get to fish all these different baits all the same color who want to spend all that money on fun fishing when the last time you and Matt did a giveaway video the number one sales men for the fishing industry and not one fucking give away video to the people you guys supposedly love you guys keep it all for yourselves I used to love this channel than I saw right through your cheap gimmick it’s slimy just like a fish tactical sales men good luck 5 min in and I’ve seen enough

  12. Oddly…. Orange, & Red even less so, remain visible the deeper the water based on light penetration. In other words, one would expect these colors working best in shallower depths.
