Shaky head is a bass fishing technique that will catch them a year long but it really shines in the spring. Pick one up and have some fun.

Why do you use a leader on braided line? Why not just use straight flourocarbon
You've convinced me lol, I'll be adding that to my setups. Great video man!
love the video…. Do you eat that piece of plastic? looks like you did.
Good informative video as usual. Thanks
Top water always for me helps catch spawning bass. Throwing a lure on the bed youd really have to be patient.
Great video! I got tired of trying to tell this girl how to fish a shaky head so I finally just shared the link to your video and told her to ff through all the talk about equipment and watch the technique
Thanks for the great video. If one of those pros was showing us they would say use 20lb fluorocarbon with a 1oz jig head
Run a mono leader then you won't have to worry about "burning" knots and is actually more abrasion resistance than fluorocarbon
Love your videos. And Go Dawgs!
Thanks for the info. I use seaguar basix and it's great for the price. Just Kno if anybody buys it that it has a 40% stretch which is about double as much as other fluoros. That being said I've never had it break or fail me and I continue to use on some of my reels
Saw you out today on the lake hope you had a good day today !
Thanks Gene!! Love your videos!! I learn a ton .thank you so much!!
I fish the same way during the spawn. I don’t like sight fishing or messing with them much when they’re on beds
I have learned to never be without a shakey head on the deck. I have won tournaments with it. I usually use it on every lay down I see, no matter what other pattern is going. A Zoom red bug finesse worm is the bomb.
I prefer to use zman worms so I have gotten away from the screw locks and I really like the heads that B-Lat created, the smh heads. Those floating worms just get so many more bites for me.
Man I love the zoom 4 inch lizard, on cold rainy spring mornings I'll actually throw it weightless, and it sinks SUPER slow. I dont twitch it, I hardly drag it, most the time I just let it slowly fall, and before it hits bottom my line goes tight. Seems like this is the best time of the year for me to use them, always assumed because it's during the spawn and they see it ass a nest raider
I remember when I started bass fishing, these videos like this were so helpful! It's been 3 years since I started being serious about it, and I've caught some nice ones and learned so much!
Will a shaky work on trout or walleye
I love the warlock head, but I hate when the screw lock starts moving around in that head. Recently been using the dirty jigs Scott canturbury head in 3/16…I think I like it better. Both do great around the grass here on Guntersville. Also, I like a baby brush hog. Give them a try!
What is the picture that flashes around 12:30
Gene what lake are you fishing?
Hello, Flukmaster. I have a Pelican catch mode 110 without a power mode. Do you have any suggestions to attach a trolling motor to it. I'm a disabled veteran that tends to run out of padding energy before I'm ready to stop fishing. Thank you for your time.
8:12 – You'll know when you squeeze it…..
You know. Now that i think Bout it, I don't recall ever fishing a Shaky Head. I have all the terminal tackle and what not to do so. Just guess I never have. I'll have to change that this year
Thank you for helping to educate and inspire. You are really helping me to get excited about fishing again! Stay safe!
If you don't catch one on a shakey do a dropshot
Cast and forget
Could I have my rods and bags on my kayak while it’s on the trailer and drive on the road?
Thank you Gene
Next time your in Tallahassee, I can show you a hidden gem of our lakes!
Do you still have the alumacraft?
Went out on kayak today caught six largies 2 on wackey and 4 on shakes. Thanks for all the time you put in to help us amateurs.
Work league last night, shaky head for the WIN! Thanks, Gene.
Is there a big difference in 60 degree vs 45 degree when it comes to the heads and landing fish? Most of the heads I see available seem to be the 45 degree variety. Thanks
Absolutely put on a clinic for my buddy so is getting back into bass fishing yesterday using a shakyhead. Got to the point I was getting annoyed catching 20+ males, that’s how many fish that thing will catch
Great vid Gene. Sometimes I take a pair of pliers and clip off a bit of that screw lock just to increase the distance. Owner 3/16 oz is money for me. And if the plastic is a bit hard, there's always the option of cutting a little slit on the bottom with a knife! That trick a must when fishing weedless paddletails for walleye here up north.
It was awesome to have a conversation with you at the Classic Sir . I hope you can catch a few on one of my Arky Shakes I gave you . I'm like you , I use strictly a straight tail worm . Here in East Tennessee – the Zoom Swamp Crawler is king !!! It's a pretty salty bait , all the Shakey Heads I was buying were having a hard time not ripping the worm after 1 or 2 fish . That's when I decided to let the lead fill the weed guard hole in my Do It Arky Jig mold and cut off the collar and factory bait keeper . I tied that 15 lb mono keeper on and now I can get atleast 3-4 fish out of Zoom's softest worm . The Arky head comes through anything but grass pretty good . Thanks for everything Sir #FLUKEMASTER
Love my 13 fishing black spinning rod!
Man I've been fishing in the same area as you for like 5 years and I can't catch a single fish I've watched your videos and tried all the different ways of fishing you have discussed
I don't know what I'm doing wrong
Z-man SMH shaky heads and worms have been on point for me. I’ve caught more fish with a shaky head than a t-rig! I’ll have to try the warlock hooks.
So glad you're teaching again. I have learned so much from you over the years.
Hey Gene, do you have any advice for someone trying to get into the kayak/fishing outdoor industry?
Great video and information!
Love it great stuff
As always, great video
Always the best info!
Learned a lot from this video Gene, thank you for sharing and have a great time with family on spring break

I love a shaky head and I even have a really solid lighter baitcasting setup. I could get away with a 1/8 ounce but I usually fish 3/16 and a screw lock. My favorite worm would have to be a GrandeBass air tail worm. It’s like a zoom trick worm with a flat head and a air pocket in the tail that makes the bait stand up. One other worm I love to use it a 13 fishing bubble butt or a joystick. The normal sized one is best because the body is super thin.
