Have you used the Damiki Rig? Its a great technique to catch Winter Bass! When nothing else is working the Damiki Rig has a unique fall and appearance that lures bites in difficult conditions. If you’re desperate for a bite you can rely on this rig to come through in a pinch. Come along as Tim shows exactly how to use it this Winter.
The rig is designed with perfect balance. When fished vertically it sits perfectly level below the boat with a unique look that nothing else can mimic. When cast into deep water the bait has a spiral fall that bass simply can’t resist! On a tight line it glides along with no motion at all but fish can’t resist it! No matter how you fish it, it has a place in the arsenal. We’ll follow this video up with a more in-depth fishing video down the road but we wanted to make sure you guys were aware of the technique during the cold water months.
Below is a breakdown of the baits and gear we use to fish the Damiki Rig. It was designed to be fished with its own bait as a trailer but there are some other great alternatives that we’ve listed as well.

Looks like you're basically crappie fishing for bass. Give them another 5 years and they will be using 12 foot rods to dip these baits around trees….just like crappie.
The reaction innovations shiver shot works great to with the Damiki rig! A great rig here in Ohio in winter 👍💪
Thanks for the video. what weight of the jig head do you prefer in usual?
How is this any different than any jig head with a small bait? Baits that drop in a circle are a nightmare for spinning rods! Belongs with people that don’t understand that a ned rig is a just a piece of senko on a jig head!
From someone that lives in Northeast TN, it’s nice to see someone from a different area do a video on this rig and actually get it right. Seen plenty of guys get the setup right and then totally butcher how to fish it. You nailed it man.
I ordered stuff for damiki rig for a tournament on table rock lake, didn't throw it because the fish were suspended in the tops of flooded timber and were hammering the jerkbait, but out of curiosity, is this effective in really cold water…. say 36 degrees? The ice on the Mississippi River here in MN just broke and I was out today attempting to find some smallmouth with it. I have not had much luck catching bass with water temps in the 30's. side note, the river is up a little and is more stained than usual. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. Thanks
I have used I thing called the Paddle Fry here in West Virginia it's only 1/4 oz have caught all types of fish on it it looks the same !!!!!!
What hook size with 1/4 oz??? And 1/8 oz??
Thank's.
1. I'll say it again you guys deserve a million + subs
2. I want to say thanks for being the "education" channel on bass fishing. You leave the different locations, the silly challenges, and the other nonsense to other channels. I come here when I need definitions, examples, and education. If a fisherman is struggling with something like punching baits, which rods are best for situations, or winter time jig fishing, they can look up your archives very easily. You guys are filling a really important role in the youtube fishing world.
This looks like you're filming from inside a studio
After watching hours of tacticalbassin on my business trip outta town, (as if I hadn’t watched everything once or 10x already) i did a thing, 3 exprides 3 curados and I broke the last day of the Christmas TW sale. After the wife saw the bill I was glad to be outta town! Hopefully she throws me out with boat!
How do u like that destroyer? Have u tried the flyssa yet for finesse swimbaits?
Lmao anyone notice he didn’t catch anything AND he has the fish radar😂😂😂
Like using a 1/4oz darter head
👍
Interesting that I just rigged up some Damiki armour shad on some ledgehead rigs that this video appeared, it's a smally killer but hoping to snatch some spots with it this week!! In the high mountain lakes we do whatever it takes! Fishin' is tough up here!
You guys spit hot fire
Is that a new boat Tim?? Good stuff as always.
I think everybody in East Tennessee is fishing this rig right now.
You guys are getting me in trouble with my wife. Lol
I'm Kinda glad you didn't catch a fish, we might of saw you lose your phone if you tried to lip one.
Do you guys ever fish with subscribers? I would love to learn some things in person!
Finally you guys let it out!! Tight lines!!
@Tacticalbassin That solix is so big I'm literally watching alongside with you on it. I almost just went and grabbed my rod lol
Damn, all these vertical rig. I don’t have a boat. My fishing spots don’t usually have ledges too.
That's 80% of the fishing here in Europe.
I’ve always known it as long lining – but I’m getting old .. nobody says groovy anymore either 😜
Great information.
Thanks!
Great description of how bait works and how to use it. It was great seeing your electronics showing the fish and bait working through them. Thanks!
Cant see your electronics screen when you say look at what's happening on it.
