One of the most important things that you can do when you are fishing a frog, is make sure you have the proper equipment to get the job done. Frogging a lot of times requires you to fish heavy cover and pull out bass in the thick stuff, so making sure you have the right gear will help you A LOT.
Another thing that I always do with a frog is simply reel the bait across the surface until you find an area with a population of bass in it. Most of the time if you are not catching fish, its because you are not around them. So covering water with your frog quickly by simply reeling the bait across the cover will help you to locate the schools in the cover!

I just caught the largest bass of recent memory on the first cast with a frog, after 30min of nothin with 3-4 other lures. 19” 3.75lb slab. Mouth was 6” wide.

For very thick coverage, I like to use a Ribbit frogs with a Stanley Double Take weighted hook using braided line. It rips through the coverage and start making trails. The frog acts like a swimbait that's just below the surface. I caught several bass like that. Even miss a bass , cast the same exact spot and the bass will be sitting there 😂
I like to texas rig a senco and just bounce it along the top of grass mats and lillies

Frogs are deadly here in the northeast conn. Winter weather slows the bite but when they bite hold good chance it’s a monster!!!!!
I've actually put the hollow bodied frogs away. I just catch so many more quality fish on soft plastic frogs. Googans toad and ribit frogs just work way better for me..
