I just moved to Texas in June from California, in the lake I normally fished in Bakersfield we did not have hydrilla. So I ran into that obstacle when fishing at the local lakes in Austin, Texas. I did some research and I had to upgrade my rod and line, I got a 7’6” heavy/Fast action tip rod with 60lb braid and a 30lb mono leader to punch through the grass.
