Summer SWIMBAIT And JIG Fishing! We’re Getting Bit EVERY Cast! 🔥🔥

The bite is on fire!! Bass are schooled up on Summer spots and they’re chewing! Come along for an awesome afternoon as Matt smashes fish with swimbaits, jigs, and underspins!

When we talk about getting out when its hot, this is the kind of bite we’re looking for! Summer bass can be very aggressive when they’re in schools. The key is knowing where to look for these groups of fish, and what baits to throw at them. These particular fish were targeting Threadfin Shad and the bite was on!

Below you’ll find links to the exact baits and gear Matt used throughout the day. We’ve included the exact sizes and colors for each lure, as well as the key rods that helped get these fish in the boat.

  1. Definitely some fun times, love how you kept fishing and just avoided the storms. Quick questions would the expride 7'6" Heavy Fast work for throwing the burrito and Carolina rig? Or is the 7'7" the better option?

  2. I love fishing as those summer storms/rains roll in, and I have always thought that the barometric pressure has something to do with it.. What do you think Matt 🤷🏻‍♂️ I can tell you some of the most epic days I’ve had fishing was just before a rain or storm, and I’m talking over 50 years it rarely fails, and then there’s times right after the rain, and even during 😉🍀🎣🍀 what a great place to live👊😎💯🍀🎣🍀

  3. I wish, when your offshore like this, with the burrito or whatever, you'd say in XX ft of water and slow rolling on the bottom or whatever your doing. You don't have to get into a full on lesson but just in general quickly, so we could try to replicate it. I'm in Arkansas with super sharp shorelines , where in alot of cases, you go 20 ft off shore and your in 30+ ft of water, and it keeps going like that to 200+ ft in many places. My boat isn't a super fast boat, so I stay on the lower end of the lake, relatively close to the dam, the majority of time with deep, clear water. Winter, I wreck em, summer, not so much. I still stick good jig fish on deep brush and bluff walls, and have times when cranking fires em up, but it's not consistent the way you guys stick fish.

  4. Just got my first burrito yesterday and trying to catch my first fish on it. Any suggestions on weather to throw the 5in or 6in. Or even when to throw the nacho. Thanks for the help!!!

  5. I live in Texas. Lately seeing Low 82 / High 105F….and that's in the shade. Usually zero clouds so add another 10 deg for the feels like temp. I'm wearing a long sleeve sun shirt w/ hoodie, but it's brutal out there. Even so fighting through it best I can and targeting off shore fish seriously for the first time in my life. All the advice and info is greatly appreciated. I still haven't found that mega school of 20-30 quality fish yet but I'll keep trying.

  6. Finally said screw it and got the 5” tatical shad Burrito. Grabbed a Dimiki 50 to get free shipping. Stay spending all my extra money at TW. Love’n every minute it. Fat Fins My friends
    ✌🏻😎✌🏻

  7. I picked the 5 inch burrito in the Tactical Shad color, but I’m not sure if I’m fishing it right. I am a bank fisherman using a 7’7” Heavy rod on 65lb braid line you stated before. I’m not having much luck with it, so I wanted to ask you how should I be working this bait? Fast, slow, bottom dragging, mid column?? Appreciate any and all advice.

  8. Matt do you still run a hydrowave.I do and love it but since ffs no one talks about it.I use it from post spawn until ice in the north east

  9. Been hoping for a jig video but with swimbaits being every other video, I think I’ll give TB a long break. Plus Tim with his religious bracelet really rubbed me the wrong way. Theology has absolutely no place in fishing. Love the channel, it changed my life, but it’s just too frustrating to see the same topic twice-thrice per month.

  10. Over the last few years, I’ve been buying a lot of these baits. I think a video guiding us on how to know what day to throw the 5” burrito vs the 6” burrito along with other baits and techniques would be extremely helpful. Sometimes boxes full of baits can feel like too many choices and you are just trying to narrow it down. Love the content as always.

  11. Hey guys! Thank you for all the information you provide us with, it’s truly a blessing! I recently picked up a 6” Megabass Mag Draft and went to my local pound and caught a new PB! I caught a 23.5” – 8.00 lb largemouth (the video is on my channel). I attribute a lot of my knowledge and success in fishing to your videos! Thanks again and tight lines!

  12. H> Matt, I have been watching you and Tim from the beginning and your videos never get old. You two are becoming legends in Bass Fishing and hope you two keep making great videos. Thanks! 😎

  13. From all the rain in NY and Vermont, Lake Champlain level has gone up about 3-4 feet. So I was fishing the other day and another guy came over nearby. He didn’t catch anything. I mentioned that because the level was high, I figured that bass would be close to shore near flooded cover and structure. He shrugged and left. Five minutes later, I caught a 3.24 pound largemouth on a June Bug wacky worm.

  14. Good morning tactical family. I asked a question a week or so ago. About what would be. A good rod for the mag draft freestyle. Using a 6. Or 8/0 beast hook I'm looking at the Fitzgerald 7 6 heavy. All-purpose or the Lews 7 6 heavy super duty, but. Open to any suggestions thank you
