Oakley – Big Break Hosts Bass Angler Magazine Tournament Trial #sports #fishing

Reported By Christian Raitt
On April 28th The Big Break Marina in Oakley had a visit from The
Bass Angler Magazine Tournament Trail. Fishermen of all skills levels
rushed the delta in search of bass and did not come up empty handed.
“There’s a need for a professional circuit here on the west coast that
gives anglers the media exposure they need in order to build
themselves up as professionals” Says Mark Lassagne, Owner of The Bass
Angler Magazine Tournament Trail. This three day event starts with
both pro and co-anglers catching five of their own fish then return to
the marina to weigh them. Whoever has the highest weight for those
five fish will be the leader of each day. If these anglers have a
cumulative weight between days one and two that gets them into the top
ten heaviest weigh-in, then they make it to championship Sunday. Phil
Tilbury won the Pro-Angler first place award with the total weight of
61.41 pounds and received a payout of $7,709.54. Rodney Brown won the
Co-Angler first place award with the total weight of 49.7 pounds and
received a payout of $3,774.71.
