Crazy situation going on with BASS and Keith Poche. I love watching Keith compete and his passion for fishing. I hate that this has transpired.

  1. Speaking for myself and almost all of my younger friends are embarrassed of the new age of tournaments! Its embarrassing the fact you legit have to have two hundred thousand dollars of boat and equipment is ridiculous.this guy is putting in the work it takes to actually win not riding around main lake with live scope

  2. Jealousy , I’ve found jealousy in all sports, especially in precision long range shooting, bass tournaments and fly fishing tournaments that I’ve participated in. I agree with Poche !!!!

  3. In the MLF BFL tourneys, the rule for Alabama rigs are 5 spinners, 5 lures, 3 hooks max or state rule applies if more restrictive. Alabama rig hook requirements vary from 1 to unlimited depending on the state, but the MLF rule takes priority. Therefore not leaving tournament water supersedes what the state may allow others to do. Anyone who has fished tournaments enough knows that. He broke the rules.

Side note – I am not claiming that I know what was in the mind of Keith Poche but here is a thought. Knowing that an angler suppose to approach the director with any questions about the rules, he may not have done so on purpose. He went to the governing authority over Toledo Bend knowing they would tell him its legal to jump that roller. No one would see him do it. Then if he won the tournament he would pass the lie detector test when ask if he did anything illegal. I'm probably reaching. Some say I am not.

BTW – Youtuber Cerebral Tackle makes a compelling case why Keith Poche broke the rules. Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tWkSbGCv7s&ab_channel=CerebralTackle

  4. B A S S IS ONE ONLY ORGANATIONS THAT ALLOW SMALL RIGS OF SIZE. HIS ACTIONS ARE GOING CAUSE RULE CHANGE . LOOK AT HIS TRACK RECORD OF DISQUALIFIED IN LAST 5 YRS / NOT JUST B A S S. HIS STATEMENT THE LAW. BULL / RULE STATES NO PULLING RIG OVER ROLLERS OR JUMPING SAND BAR .LOCK @ DAM IS RULED BY STATE AND LOCKMASTER ON DUTY NOT B A S S. DON T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT KIND OF RIG / SO ALL GRIP ABOUT HE USING POORMAN BOAT / NOT ISSUE . BASS IS ALSO PROTECTING ALL FISHERMAN / HE S TAKING MONEY AWAY FROM FELLOW FISHERMAN WHO FOLLOW THOSE GUIDELINES WHICH HAVE BEEN INPLACE WAY BEFORE HIS TIME. . BY THOSE ACTIONS THERE IS CHANCE ON INJURY HE IS TAKING TO A PARTNER OR HIMSELF . RUMOR IS SAM RAYBURN SECOND DAY CATCH WAS ACCESSED BY JUMPING TREE 10 INCHES OUT WATER ACROSS CREEK . PROBABLY BEEN DONE BEFORE BY SOMEBODY . BUT THERE IS RULE ON SAFE BOAT HANDLING ISSUES THAT CAUSE INJURY . HE HAD PARTNER THAT DAY. GOOD FISHERMAN HE IS BUT . RULES INPLACE BROKE / BET HE WOULD ASKED TOURAMENT DIRECTOR ON THIS ISSUE . IT WOULD NEVER HAPPENED / OR IF ALLOWED ALL BE GOOD . THERE ARE CALL S IN ALL SPORTS SOME LIKE OR DISAGREE WITH .

  5. Keith is the Smokey Yunich of bass fishing.
Smokey is the cause of over half of the rules in Nascar. His philosophy was
" if it's not in the rules, it's legal!! LOL.

  6. So lets see the facts. I have yet to see a pic or vid of the roller dam where he went in. From the facts I have heard he crossed dry land which is against the rules.

  7. So there are no rules in that hand book that say you CANNOT jump dikes, levys, or roads? Even our local tournaments state that as a rule and have for years

  8. This matter should be looked at thoroughly by Keith’s attorneys. The laws on water for that state should be interpreted for exactly how they were worded and written. Then only can there be a legal determination as to whether Keith did any wrong doing in that event. We as responsible fishermen should demand more fact based information before we pass judgment wrongfully on an athlete in a professional event. This needs the attention on a legal and judicial level not on emotion and what people THINK the law in that state says. Hopefully Keith will have a chance to prove his side of the case. After all we still live in a country where we are innocent until proven guilty. We all want TRUTH, that’s all that matters at the end of the day.
