  1. I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.

  2. I'm a bank fisherman and I want to learn how to use jigs from the bank. Can you do a video on jig fishing from the bank? Thanks! Watch all your videos! Love to catch largemouth.

  3. I bought the ikari lure at Walmart. It was for largemouth bass and I watched some videos on how to reel it. I took it out to the harbor and it also works on spotties..

  4. I have not fished for large mouth in about 15 years. I live in San Diego and I usually fish for trout. My last time out I was fishing I decided to change up and try for some bass because it's really not trout season and I was fishing from a dock. I couldn't get to the deeper water where they would be. So I put on a Senko and on my first cast I brought in a 6 1/2 pound Large mouth. And because I was fishing for trout at first I was using only 4 pound test! I was shocked and and it felt great. I was out about another 5-6 hours that day and not even another bite. I no longer have a boat and the places I am able to go to have hard to get to areas off the bank due to a bad ankle I have so I can usually only fish off the dock. I do see other people catching bass and we all see monsters swimming under it. I am able to cast toward and under the tree line on shore from where I am at though as well. Do you have any videos, tips or advice for catching large mouth off a dock? Do I cast toward shore tree lines, how do I catch the monsters we see under the dock and what baits do you think work best? Because I am in San Diego it's usually very sunny. Also, does choppy water make a difference? I look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you for your time & have a great day!
