Frogging for spawning bass in the lily pads.

I love a good topwater bite, and the springtime can lead to some great topwater days if you catch the bass in the right spot during spawning process. Today they were pulled up into the lily pads to get busy and pestering them with something right over their head can be an effective way to get finicky fish to bite. I missed plenty of bites because it’s not a foolproof method, bass on beds may just nip or slap at a topwater to clear the threat from their area, but when you get a committed chomp the result is magical.
