  1. So you put the big bluegill on a aerator, but the shad, the fish that are notorious for dying easily, in the regular old bucket along with the shiners?

  2. Buy some size 14 to 18 hooks for the blue gill n just put a lil tiny pc of rubber on it I use green or orange so I can see it and use a like a 4'6 or 5ft ul I catch some much bait like that

  3. How about doing a BIG nightcrawler vs live bluegill challenge in that pond to see which one does the best. Bet is on the bluegill, but bass do love the big, juicy crawlers as well.

  4. For live bait especially bluegill get catfish hooks and hook the bait through they’re back close to the tail but under the spine. Bass have evolved to naturally eat bluegill head on so the spikes don’t get hung and kill them

  5. Looked like a pretty fun day. Yest I was fishing and saw a bass guarding some fry over 10. He would not hit any thing I put near those fry. Just chase lures. I should have remembered this old trick. Catching a small gills and putting it out there.. But you reminded me. Hopefully he's still guarding those babies tomorrow. My biggest this year has only been 7.2. Though for Missouri that's not roo shabby. Good fishing. Fish on and keep doing what ya love. 👌👍😊
