Live Bait overall catches bigger fish and more fish but it won’t save you from a skunk. There are days where you just won’t catch a damn thing. Some people think live bait is cheating because it guarantees you bites but it’s not true. Overall it is much easier to catch lots of bigs but not guaranteed. I caught a 8 pounder a few days ago on a white Chatterbait and got skunked yesterday using live bluegill even though i could see 2 big bass. I kept casting at them for 2 hours and couldn’t get em to bite. One was about 6-8 pounds and the other was 9-11 pounds. I just watched em ignore my bluegill all afternoon… gonna try again today.
