I've taken some of my 8" mag drafts & removed the harness & put a 10/0 weighted swimbait hook in them. That way a can also bump bottom with them. It works good if you're willing to modify it. Ive been addicted to fishing big swimbaits working on 4 years now. My 5 biggest largmouth last year was 7.4 – 8.05 – 8.6 – 9.3 – 11.4 But I also had lot of days I got skunked too!!!! Alot of days it's a hero or zero outcome. I'd rather catch one big one than bunch of dinks any day…
I was catching them really good on glide bait yesterday. It was in a smaller hole in wall lake new to me, I was exploring . Idk how big bass are in it yet? But biggest one I caught was only 3lbs. I had 5 other 1-2 pounders eating my glide bait all morning. I was fishing the 9" nessy soft glide bait. I just got them in so I wanted to test them out. They fish pretty good. They don't swim as good a some of my hard baits but it's different. Which is good…

10" is a great bait, especially if there are stripers…potential for more bites. at any time, a big largemouth could make their appearance….occasionally, I'll take 3 rods only…all big baits…this MAKES you fish them all day..Big Rat wakebaits are a favorite too
Crazy bass fisher has some videos on it I have 2 extra heavy rods just need a good reel then I’ll start chasing big ones

I'm sticking with the 6" version. Way more bites and way more fun. No special tackle required. But, as far as being effective? The very first cast I made with one, I landed one around 4 pounds. It is hideously addicting.

i tried it in northern New Jersey on a 7-6ft heavy rod with 65 pound braid. I pitched it next to a big boat in about 5 ft of water. that's when I met Mr Muskie. It was easily 48 inches with the head the size of a basketball. I could noy stop it and that was the last time I saw that lure.
