No matter where you live in the country something you will experience in the fall is cooling water temperatures. Any time the water cools you typically have one of the best opportunities to go out and catch some of the biggest bass that live you your body of water.

No matter what lake that I go to, there are 3 patterns that I can almost always run during the fall that are going to produce some large bass.

One pattern is fishing a spinnerbait in muddy water pockets, one pattern is fishing a jig on channel swing baits, and the last pattern is fishing a plopper style bait any where and every where.

BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

  1. You really talk too much, and keep your face on the video too long. You mention all kinds of bait, assuming we know what you’re talking about. Kindly show a picture of the baits and rigs as you mention them.

  2. Are you hiring? Let me just quit my job and go fishing all day with you bro! I don’t eat much I’m quite and I know how to use a baitcaster!! Think about it

  3. Sounds like good advice, I've done some of this never been good at jig fishing. I've taken and tried advice from many different guys over the years and never really found anything that is sure fire especially around this hard pressured lake we have. I will give this stuff a shot and see how this fall fishing turns out.

  4. I'm in Meigs County Ohio and I watch your channel because you know Ohio bodies of water be it a lake river or pond and it helps me know what to throw however I'm stuck on jigs and chatterbaits now

  5. I have to echo what a lot of others are saying. I was out of fishing the last 12 years and decided to get back to it. watching your videos this year has made it one hell of a year. I hit my new PB multiple times this year. Not kidding, when I'm on the water I will always try and think back to your tips or just bust out my phone and re watch some videos. THANK YOU for what you do. Bass fishing in Colorado isn't always easy but I know for a fact you have made me better. Keep up the amazing videos!!!

  6. This video is one of your best works. I agree with everything you said. I've become a huge Swim jig angler in the past 5 years. I have my favorite jigs but when it comes to trailers, I like the Rage Craw for more active times. When its colder, I switch to a menace trailer. Thanks for sharing

  7. Hey BFHQ. I'm stuck. I have tried almost EVERYTHING (jigs, Ned rigs, spinner baits, chatter baits, crank baits in all deps, wacky rig and texes rig) and I can't get a fish on the hook! Same ponds I have been going to for years. Tries deep and shallow but still nothing. It's mid October in the north east. Any help??

  8. Tyler – You have become one of my top 3 YouTube creators I watch and I'm always excited to watch your new vids. You have a way of delivering your message that is unique and well presented. As one of the commenters on this video said, you have turned me into a better fisherman. Now I just need to work on being a better boat captain and using the trolling motor foot pedal better. Thanks for all you do.👍

  9. Fishing here on the Ohio river (and tributaries) in Wood County, WV is particularly challenging. Your advise is helping me as I'm used to fishing in East Texas where the fishing is WAY better and easier. ALL the public water around here is moving and that takes some getting used to. Thanks for your content.

  10. Thank you man! I have watched previous vids about fall fishing and went out with a 1/2 oz green pumpkin jig and was fishing wood, caught a 6.2 lb largey yesterday! Was .6 from being my PB!

  11. What water temps do you start transitioning on your jog trailers from something with kick to something like a chunk/beaver style with a lot less movement? Love your videos.

  12. Always excellent information. I’ve had luck this season pond fishing chatterbaits, square bills, and lipless cranks where water transitions from deeper to shallow. The places I fish in NJ the pond temps are in the high 40s.

  13. Awesome tips Tyler! I watch your videos all the time, some of them several times. I always pick up new tricks that work. I've been a bass fisherman for over 40 years but I always learn from your videos.Thank you for taking time to share your knowledge!

  14. The amount of times I’ve went fishing with someone on their boat and NOT caught fish with all their fancy electronics is laughable. I catch more fish when I analyze the water and think for myself , putting myself in the right zones and fishing confidently has caught me more fish and bigger fish, from the bank.

  15. The bite in northern Kentucky right now is on fire, I caught 25 bass in 2 days this weekend on spinnerbaits locally. Crappie hitting on every cast Friday. Completely changed my mind about fishing in October.

  16. Good stuff as always. I like to kill my spinnerbait right as I clear it from hitting the stump or structure. I've gotten lots of really good bites that way. Both my PB cane on this technique. One with a spinnerbait the other with a chatterbait.

  17. Hey Tyler once again you hit a bull’s-eye! My question now or I should say as challenges to hear your thoughts and ideas for moving water like rivers. I’m talking big rivers navigational rivers like the Ohio. Everything was about a lake but you know as well as I do Ohio River can produce some big fish this time of year. Keep the great info Coming ice will be here soon! Thanks for your time
