I'm just getting back into fishing again… after a 24 year hiatus. I'm 45 now. My first day fishing was last March (March 2019), and I was hooked again… like I was when I was a kid. Probably worse actually, lol. But my first fish was a 5lber on a green pumpkin chatterbait. It was, at that time, my PB. Caught her on my 2nd cast in a small 1 acre Connecticut pond. I think I fished everyday for about 2 months, even if for only 30 minutes before and after work. I seldom take my gear out of the van, as I try to fish as much as possible. I even fished a kayak bass tournament on Lake Williams in Connecticut. It was my first, and only, tournament ever. It was a blast, and it was definitely one to remember… and I ended up winning it! It was soooooo awesome! Anyway, the chatterbait is my go to, confidence lure. I love its versatility. Chatterbaits didn't exist when I last fished at 19 years old. Well, nice video. Thanks for taking the time and energy to put something together. God bless 🙏✌️🎣🐟👊💯
What sz live magic shad are you using ?
Dang!
For fishing around wood.
You need to try the “nu tech elite blade”.The brush guards are better hookup rate.
I agree with your thoughts on braid. I run braid to leader on every setup because of the efficiency with things like grass and also with saving line and money. Having that braid to leader or straight braid rips straight through grass so easily. I literally never have to clean off my chatterbait. Blade stops moving, rip the bait with the rod and boom, clean chatterbait. I throw the project z weedless chatterbait but I don’t think it makes much difference, it’s the braid that does.
If you like real good custom chatterbaits try tru trac lures.
When are you going to get with Ronnie Kelley and fish Lake Tyler? Would love to see how you all break down some of these high pressured smaller lakes?
GOOD BREAKDOWN MAN, 2018 WAS MY FIRST TIME USING IT,BUT IM BIG CRANK BAIT DOOD SO I JUST APPLIED THAT TO IT,AND ITS BEEN REAL GOOD TO ME!!👍👌🤙😁
I use about the same bait set up on rock. Zman chatter bait but here in the rock the paddle tail works best it seems for me. I just slow roll it and stroke it when I make contact with rock edges. I thrown mine on a M/H moderate tip rod with a 6.3/1 ratio reel. Same colors…natural white with Chartreuse/blue and green pumpkin. Matching the trailers. Good video for grass. I absolutely killed them last winter on this set up.
👊🏼
The bass are 50-80ft deep on the lakes I fish not really chatterbait water.
The ultimate chatter bait is a 6th sense swim jig with 2 split rings and a blade. THE BEST EVER CHATTER BAIT!
I didn’t hear any tips for using it except in grass. I fish East Texas lakes and many of them do not have grass.
awesome tips!! Thanks for sharing!
Another great video!!!!! 💪💪💪
I own those exact same colors bud. Except I have the regular z man lol with my broke ass.
