I Love fishing with Ultralight baits! I had a couple of spinning rods 4'-6" built for me and bought the Gander Mountain youth casting rods 4'-6", the casting rods were really well built rods fished with white nano 4-6 lbs braid line with fluorocarbon shock leader 2 X the main line! Still cast the bait a long way! Especially fishing banks or these Houston Bayous short rods don't get hung up as much! And that nano line looks like a sewing tread but is as strong as piano wire! Caught some Bayou Muskies (Alligator Gar) at or over 5lbs and haven't been broke off yet! Use the Shimano Calcutta 51's & 101's ! Penn's SS 4200's are great reels that are bulletproof and easy to maintain! You can open them up without crap shooting out, when oiling and lubing them up! Really your channel and you fishing the Pittsburgh River System! Fished the Susquehanna River around 3 mile catching smallies! Before I learned to fish Ultralights!
