  1. Bass was like most gentlemen’s clubs when it started. Everything evolves and the only sport that still has those rules and feel is golf which is gradually changing also. Great video.

  2. Randy, I'm a fan of yours and consider you a good and classy guy, but posing nude on your boat despite not showing anything has no business in bass fishing. I would have suspended you for the entire season. Be yourself as you have been, but there are limits! Speak your mind, but you went to far especially back then. Bad Boyz are ok, so long the conduct is warranted and promotes the sport of bass fishing in a positive manner.

  3. Great Video and very interesting view points I feel there is a difference between being mischievous and being a downright loudmouth without respect, this is true for every sport. To me the best sportsman show humility.

  4. Randy, your right. I am older and can remember how the people of Winter Haven, Fl. hated Ray Scott for having all those tournaments in Winter Haven and destroying the bass population. Every motel had bass boats and tons of tournaments going on. Its has taken 30 years for the lakes to recover. I got a kick out of Gerald Swindel back in 2007 at Camp Mack landing in Lake Wales, Fl. He was fishing a tournament there and as a State Police officer, I kept an eye on their rigs so no one would steel their gear and rods. They loved it and I got to help him put on a new transducer on his Triton. He was a little outspoken at the time but he was friendly and funny. I enjoyed the encounter. He became comical at bass events after that in Guntersville where he lives. The crowd seem to love his way of talking. He wasn't shy with the fans. The subject of your video reminder me of him on stage with interviews. There are several Pros these days voice themselves openly. That is the new standard I guess. I am sure The late Ray Scott would not agree. Well, times are changing and the crowds like it. These good bad boys you speak of still have their sponsors and competing. On another subject on another video, you talked about having these tournament during the spon. I agree no tournament should be scheduled during a certain lake's spon. It is cruel on fish. Schedule it later or earlier. We will have a better bass population. Well, enough said. Keep up the videos. You are right about so many things about bass fishing I have learned so much. I don't agree on everything but that is very little. You are one of the best bass Pros since the beginning. Thank You and God bless you and your family.

  5. Never been an Ike fan, but can certainly appreciate his enthusiasm cuz I also have it in spades! I go nuts when I catch a big one…..out here on the cal delta that's a 10+#er. Back east where I'm from, a 5#er was huge, well at least it was back in the 70's…….I read that the day 1 MLF weigh in was 26#s on the miss river? Seriously? That's just nuts!.

  6. The Bible teaches us to be humble. Of course Ray destroyed REAL good bass fishing for me too. I hate all of of it. I wish you guys would go home on week ends and just watch football and leave the lakes to people who LOVE to fish. The public DOES NOT appreciate ir believe me.

  7. I remember when Cliff Pace won the BassMasters Classic- people complained about how expressionless, bland and boring he was. There is a Bell Curve of personalities- Pace on the left and Robertson on the right end.

  8. I got a suggestion, quit all the Whining. I am 67 and still to this day have never seen a Person Whine as much as You…If you don't like something, that is normal, but the bitcching and Complaining gets old…Just my opinion….

  9. they want a dress code like other sports ,bass fishing is not basketball or football it’s sponsorship through representation what if your sponsor sell board shorts ,well Either wear them or forget it no deal 🙅‍♂️

  10. The incident regarding Randy Moseley was written about in the book “ Bass Wars: A Story of Fishing, Fame, and Fortune” By Nick Taylor

If your a fan of Randy Blaukat, Rick Clunn, as well as others and some bass fishing history, it’s definitely worth a read to follow along their journey trials and tribulations for a season.

    Good stuff Randy.

Always wanted to ask you about the bait company you ventured into that was written about in the book. What ever happened with that?

  11. Unless you have me on the payroll you will not tell me what I can and cannot wear… If I pay to play you have zero say so of anything I do. No matter who you are.. Now that being said if you are in the public eye your actions are not just representing you but your family and family name!!

  12. Where does it stop, and once it goes to far, and it will, how do you stop it? You won’t!
Being the bad boy, emphasis on boy, is what I did when I was a teenager. Nothing wrong with being yourself, unless you are rude and obnoxious looking for attention. There are several pros I won’t listen to because they fall into your bad boy category.

Like someone else said, that’s why I fish alone.

  13. Seems like bassmasters is totally missing the mark, personality of the anglers is what is going to grow the sport and move product. They are missing a golden opportunity with Matt Robinson

  14. I’m unashamed. I’m a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I’m not going to lie about how I feel. I hate profanity. It’s prevalent even in small town local tournaments. I pull for the man who shows respect, many kids follow bass fishing. No matter who we are or what we do there are others watching us. This is not a negative comment just my opinion of choice.

  15. Also I fished with Mike in our local club in 1993-94 and he did edgy stuff than, at the club level. He’s very competitive but not so groomed in management of emotions. But at the same time loves our sport and will share his knowledge and will help anyone with anything relating to the sport except if the tournament is on, he will push you out of his way. Haha 😊

  16. Thank you, Randy, for sharing this bit of history about yourself. I think this is one of your best videos, it certainly gives me a new perspective about you, which heightens my respect for you and your individualism, professionalism and character. You're the man Randy!!!!

  17. Mark Zona on Mercer podcast just talked about pro anglers pushing the edge in our sport whether competitively or erratically being a bad example to the popular high school and college fisherman coming up in the ranks. I’m not sure Ray Scott was all wrong in his pursuit of a respectable reputation or actions and appearance having a positive or negative effect.

  18. Having met Ike a few different times, I have to say my perception of him changed so much. He had been the most attentive pro for the level of fame he has. He asked genuine questions and acted like no one else was in the room even though there was a handful of people lurking waiting to get a photo or talk to him as well. Still think his persona goes overboard some but to each his own. He also seems to truly care about getting kids into fishing.
