Where Are the BASS Hiding? Post-Spawn Creek Fishing

Post-spawn bass fishing can be one of the most frustrating times to fish—especially in small creeks and rivers. In this video, I break down where creek bass go after the spawn, why they seem so inactive, and how to adjust your strategy to keep putting fish in the net.

We talk about how post-spawn bass need recovery time, often moving to slack water or deeper pools to rest and feed lightly. I also share my approach to downsizing baits during this phase and how using a finesse presentation like the NedWacky Mini Tube in Hybrid Electric Motor Oil color helped seal the deal. That subtle action can be the difference between a quiet day and a productive one.

You’ll also see how my light action K Custom Fishing Rod brings the fun back to creek fishing. If you’re struggling to figure out where to fish during the post-spawn, or what lures actually work, this video will help.

  1. Good video buddy , I mean there’s ballerinas that would be jealous of that one legged swan spin move you performed 😂. Informative as well as entertaining!

  2. Great video Trey. Definitely experienced this over the weekend. No severe flooding but the opposite. Very low water on the regular creek. Nice shot of the red tail hawk keeping an eye on you. Waiting for the summer trend and warm stable weather buddy. I did manage a few smallies and plenty of rock bass on a modified drop shot hellgramite bait combo. Blessings brother

  3. Guess we will have to start calling Doctor Trey the Marine Biologist! It is a privilege to have someone teach us about something they absolutely love. Really appreciate your instruction and humor, learning is so much easier if you are having fun! Again, appreciate all your effort and may the wind always be at your back or in your face if that is what you prefer! Thanks Doctor Trey!

  4. Great upload Trey I think those few really bad floods we had just changed the whole dynamic of the creek I noticed a couple of weeks ago it had altered so much..
