I fished Crappie masters on LOT-Ozarks, Truman, Stockton and Mark Twain different times over the years and really like how the smaller average fish where good for me. Seemed like if you can catch fish, you'd do well and I did well on those lakes. I guess I'm saying it was an equalizer of some sort. I always did a lot better in the standings in Mo than those big fish lakes in Louisiana and central Miss. Tournament fishing, HUGE waste of money but what a great way to waste it. Enjoyed the show. Why don’t you have 360 on your boat ? Being a jig fisherman it would really help you find and set up on structure that is not obvious . It’s nothing like FFS . It definitely helps an angler set up on structure and make more productive casts.
I'm sure some other guys caught fish….

I know how you feel about the cheater box. My question is what do you think about mlf and their at least trying to put a little bit of regulation on it where there is at least a day or so that they can't use it?

I just saw your Toyota series day one video. I’m shocked since the MLF allows as you say, “cheater boxes” to be used by “spotlighters” in the derby. It’s deplorable for you to support MLF and donate your money to an organization that allows Pro Tour anglers, by your definition, to cheat during 1/3 of the entire season. Let alone the Toyota series where cheater boxes and umbilical cord FFS units are allowed. Where is your integrity? If you are such a standup guy, who is all about lambasting alleged cheaters and fraudulent sportsmen who use FFS, why not exercise an all out boycott? Anyhow Randy, good luck in the derb and show those boys how real bass fishing is done!

Friend and I fished a 2 day buddy tournament in February on Pomme De Terre years ago. No fish during pre-fish, no fish weighed on day one. We had one squeaker on day 2. Only fish weighed during the tournament. Won all 1st, 2nd, 3rd and big bass. Crazy!
Big shad kill here on Beaver too. Last weekend a tournament was won on like 6 lbs last weekend. Yeah, they are full on dead frozen shad. Might play into your favor. Good luck man.

Ive done really good on a blade bait (silver buddy) when there is a shad kill. I throw a 1/4 oz on 6lb line. Kinda a lift & drop retrieve/tight line.
Hope your wife will have a smooth recovery.
It might be interesting to actually see Randy throw a bait or skip a bait into the water instead of just seeing his boat in the garage or him sitting in it on the water!!!

Yo um I'm in Kentucky and when we see that condition shad dying and dead on bottom we take a Kvd, red eye shad 1/2 oz in a shad pattern you can cast it a mile and it stimulate those shad perfectly let it fall twitching it then just bounce off bottom I've killed em in the creeks doing that .tight lines and screaming drags .good luck

If you are paying an entry fee and not using ffs, you are giving your money away. I understand why you don’t use one, but you’re throwing money away. You have nice graphs on your boat for structure that you didn’t have when you started. You have amazing equipment. It’s a tool that every guy has to use to compete in the event. Have you ever dropshotted on 2d?? Isn’t that the same thing. EE did it back in 2007 I think
