  1. Thanx Steve. I have a theory on the red color spring thing. I don't think its a craw deal. Maybe bass being pre spawn their aggression is very high and red could be a trigger.
Bright colors work good in spring because firetiger also works good for me in spring. Until I find that talking bass who knows.

  2. I'm already seeing craws scuttle around near the banks in the waters near me. They blend in with the mud really well so they can be hard to make out. A brown jig or even PB&J has been great for me this time of year. Like you said, just a little bit of action is all you need. I think Bob Ross said it best, "two hairs and some air."

  3. Great timing Steve. Just got back from wading the DuPage River and caught a couple northern Illinois tub smallies on a Falcon Lake colored 1/4oz finesse jig. For anyone who doesn’t know the color it’s essentially green pumpkin and dark red. It won’t be long before the smallies are running riot out there. Keep up the great content.

  4. Jigs and a Wiggle Wart are always tied on when I head out in the spring. I have caught so many fish on that Wiggle Wart! That living rubber jig is the ticket in February also. It makes such a big difference over silicone this time of year. I'm looking forward to that bundle Steve! I hope you are doing well.

  5. Great point about how hues are distinguishable with wildlife – had to study the analogy of hues in college when studying ecosystems. Keep posting awesome content – your site is a great place.
