I go over my perfect kayak setup. I discuss the best parts of the best fishing kayaks to ultimately make up the best version of a fishing kayak that money can buy. I talk about fishing kayak stability, kayak fishing motors, and much more. #kayak #fishingkayak #bassfishing

  1. My perfect kayak is the Old Town Predictor 13 I spent last spring/summer motorizing with a Torqeedo motor. I did the work myself so I know it inside and out; that is the perfect kayak!

  2. I recently went with a Nucanoe Flint (from OMTC ;)) that does it for me. I’ve had a canoe for the last 30+ years and kayaks were a hard sell but the hull shape on the Flint convinced me. Haven’t rigged it for fishing yet but I have played in rivers on it and I love that it’s a throw and go. Will be getting a trailer when I put the pedal drive on it but even then I can still car-top, just have to disassemble everything. Dream come true. Made in USA chef’s kiss

  3. The perfect for me would be the unlimited…. I want a nk300 on the back and a gps motor on the front.
I switch between bass fishing and crappie fishing so having a open deck would allow me to load out differently for each trip easy.
Bass i catch and release, crappie i like putting a big cooler in front of me for my catch.

  4. See your going about this all wrong the Indians tried this a long time ago. They use boats now. A kayak is a poor excuse for one. Maybe if you just like buying new fishing equipment electronics and putting your life at risk in cold water this is the way to go😂😂😂😂

  5. I'd agree with all your options except I like the Jackson flex drive as the only one that folds into the hull, if you hit something your not risking breaking something or throwing off your balance. Also not having to undo straps or clamps and fold things up and into the boat for clearance is great for me.
The only thing I think would make it better would be if it was fully removable for those days you don't want it for weight savings and/or having clear forward deck space

  6. Been in my Feelfree Moken 10 for a couple years. It's my first fishing kayak and it was a great entry point. But I've also been designing my ideal fishing kayak in my head based on that experience. Turns out I was designing the U10 without realizing it, so I am very excited to upgrade next spring.

Also, your U10 reviews have been really helpful in solidifying that decision – thanks!

  7. If you look at it there is no such thing as the perfect fishing kayak out of the box. Finding a kayak you can rig to your style or type of fishing is what makes it perfect for you. To me the perfect fishing kayak would be one that you can have a motor, peddle system and paddle onboard at the same time. I have a Vibe Shearwater 125 and I love it but the only way to motorize it and have the peddle system is to get a Bixpy. If you add a NK or Torqeedo you have to remove the rudder. Native Titan X fits my ideal kayak but I am not a fan of that version of the Propel drive. The upcoming Hammer 1210 has my attention and will be in play next year sometime. I like a kayak that cuts through the water easily and doesnt catch a lot of wind. I do not stand on my kayak when fishing due to my size and health issues. I like the width of the Titan X but the weight of the hull alone kills it for me.

  8. Really feel like those kayaks that give you the pedal drive to then motorize later on are the best kayaks. You might not be able to afford a kayak thay needs yo be motorized but you can get one that has the pedal option a year down the road you drop another big spend and get a motor. I think native has one pedal version with mounting holes front and back for a electric motor. Kaku I know has one.
