I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

Awesome video Matt! I have yet to catch a Muskie and have come close so many times when not even fishing for them! HAHA I have lost a lot of lures because of them and almost lost a really hot bait last Friday at a new Lake for us with an awesome squarebill bite that day. Luckily the muskie let go of the lure after it cut the line like dental floss (you could hear the 10 pound fluoro on my medium mod crank rod go "ting") and it just sat by the boat trying to release a treble hook. My squarebill floated to the surface and we got it back and in about 30 mins later I caught a sweet 3 pound smallie with the same lure! Just before that my 16 yr old son finally finally caught his very first Pike (which I told him and predicted the night before he was going to catch one) It weight only 8 pounds but was about 36" long. Finally my 13 year old daughter finally caught her first largemouth after 3 years since she went fishing on a lipless. Going back to the same lake this Sunday and I have upgraded my leader line on all my rods to a minimum of 15 pound Trilene Big Game Mono for the abrasion resistance and the float factor as all the fish are looking up chasing and putting on the feed bags! Love fall fishing!

Great video, I really enjoyed it! Every so often I catch a small one fishing for bass on the rivers around here. I would have a hard time bringing in one of those.

thought about, I live in Sweden we don't have bass there but perch and pike, we usually get several pike every time we fish for perch but from everything I see on youtube you almost never catch muskie or pike in the USA when you fish for bass. how is it that?

Hell yeah! Muskie content!!! It was tough fishing up near Manitowish Waters this week. Saw quite a few but they were super stingy. Heres an amatuer tip for you. The KGB chad shad perch color does a good job on pike and musky.
Matt , I like fishing for musky and pike . I only get to fish in the rivers like susquehanna and tioga and chenango, I've only ever caught 1 on a' 4 '' tiger lure . this is fresh water fishing , any advice on fresh water baits? Would the salt water gulps work up here north rivers or even like the fresh water lakes like cayuga , or senica , an so on ? Do you ever do competition up upstate ny? Thanks, Bob

If I lived up there musky and pike are probably all I'd fish for. They remind me of a mix of saltwater fish. They're like a snook and a barracuda had babies. Some of the same baits should work for muskie or saltwater fish. Snook are fun to catch at night and it's similar to muskie fishin'. That Glitch bait would be good for snook in the right color.
Anyway it's fun to see you catching something different. Muskies look like fun if they'll bite.
