The Legendary Japanese Lure That Never Fails. Deps Deathadder

What lures do you bring to a new fishing spot? I usually rely on Yamamoto Kut Tail, Keitech Swing Impact, and Gary Yamamoto Senko for light-spinning tackles. But this time, I chose the Deps Deathadder.

The Deathadder is a legendary Japanese lure that debuted in 2001 and is still a favorite. It’s versatile and works with many rigs, such as Weightless Texas, Wacky, and Drop Shot. In this video, I rigged it with a Weightless Texas setup. Let’s watch how it performs.

  1. Excellent video! Love your music choices for the vids. I like the Deathadder, though not quite the same, it reminds me a little of the Reins Bubbling Shaker, but without the ribs. I like the look of the tail on the Deathadder. Imagine it plays a part in the allure of the bait.

  2. The deathadder is a very versatile lure indeed. I like to fish it weightless like you were doing in this video. My favorite way to use it is on the back of a bladed jig. I have recently had some really good success pairing it with the new jackall super break blade. I had one of my best days in the fall with that pairing, I caught like 12 smallmouth and 2 of them were over 4 pounds. Thank you for the video waki I definitely recommend the Deps deathadder, it is a very good bait that needs to be in every fisherman’s arsenal. As always tight lines I’m always looking forward to your new videos.

  3. I bring my 2.5" grubs I make. I took them to Wyoming and fished in that state everyday for an entire month while livestreaming. Caught over 13 species on the grubs. Safe to say I now make a 4" grub. out of 20+ soft plastics I make the grubs are my go to. They outperform the senko and any other stick bait simply for the fact that they catch any species. I even caught big cat fish on them.

  4. Japanese Angler Waki! I love your channel! I have a request. Do you think you could do a video about different words and phrases fisherman say in Japanese? How do they say “rod”, “reel”, “It’s a big one!”, or “Nice bass!”, things like that. Thank you and tight lines my friend!
