  1. I've been fishing for just over a year now. Randy's advice on seasonal patterns and moods being the key to always catching made perfect sense to me. I've honed in a number of successful techniques that I employ and have learned how to use a good variety of lures. I haven't been skunked once since the pre-spawn all thanks to old school fishing tips. Thanks Randy!

  2. After having a successful business in retail bass fishing and all the products associated with it, the big lie is 85% of the product 3:52 g strategy and profit for the manufacturer, and not actually needed to function or improve your success at bass fishing! I ended my business because I got tired of marketing products this way, taking advantage of honest fishermen in a sport I love, and catering to manufacturers that only care about the money in their pockets.

  3. Common sense isn't common… history has proven it repeatedly… from over harvest to mismanagement the results take years to correct, if they can be corrected. Cheating may seem easier, but the end result never has the fulfillment of understanding. While I'm not a proponent of bassmasters nor any other big business endgames, I understand greed. We all suffer from it, but it's up to us as individuals to control the impulses that lead to irreversible outcomes. Anything goes is coming full circle, the wisdom of man is being exposed, there are no excuses, reality is here but seldom looked at. Going along to get along is an act of compliance, the end game is control. To give in, or give up is defeat, you either win or lose. What's down the road can be good for all, or bad that can't be reversed. There's a wide loop that's being used to ensnare every aspect of life, it's goal is control. Better learn to see behind the finger right in front of the eyes, and look behind at the reality.

  4. Quick story Randy. When I go fishing whether it be for bass or panfish or catfish when I pull on my spot and shut the big motor off I make my way to the front of the boat and I sit down on my seat I sit there and take a deep breath and I just look and listen to what Mother Nature has to offer on that day and I think about just how lucky I am to experience these things. I only have one graph and it’s 2 d and down imaging and side imaging. I use it mainly for depth and mapping. It’s located on my helm so when I’m on the front of the boat I’m not distracted by it. As I get older and more In tune with my own mortality the more I enjoy just appreciating what god has created and what a privilege it is to experience this kind of intimate relationship with nature. Thank you sir for fighting the good fight. I along with many many others are right beside you on this!!!

  5. I just put 2 brand new Garmin units that are Live Scope compatible on my Bass Cat but I will not be using that. I use the units for mostly navigation and basic sonar. I do use the side imaging and down imaging but no Live Scope but it is to find structure and use the contour maps. Also, I am not paying an extra 2K, for me it is not worth it, I like old school fishing.

  6. I agree with this 100% I fished Toho yesterday and struggled to find them. Fished 4 hours before I caught a fish but it was beyond rewarding when I finally found them

  7. Do you have any sonar on your new boat? GPS?, Spot Lock technology? New EFI technology on your motor, new lithium technology batteries and high tech brushless trolling motor, new technology for your livewells, boat lighting leds, and on board charging with high tech battery chargers. Also, now making a living with technology with new i phones, youtubes, and cameras. Then you say you fish "old school" and have a traditional natural day with a high tech rod and reel and invisible high tech line looking through your high tech sunglasses.

  8. Could not not have said it better myself. When you take away the anticipation you have ruined the moment. As Spock said on Star Trek the wanting is of more satisfaction than the having. They are missing the journey and just don't know it. Keep up the fight sir.

  9. No different than all of these people that can’t stop looking at their cell phones! It’s also like the states that allow deer hunting over corn, those hunters don’t know how to scout for deer sign or even how to set to hunt overe deer sign. They basically have no hunting skills!

  10. These words are just pure raw truth. Bass fishing and everything associated with it is one of the most satisfying and relaxing things I’ve come to enjoy in my life. And it is a stress reliever on a level that pure LSers will never come to appreciate. Now with that said, this “old timer “ in Randy Blaukat has taught me how to take this beautiful experience in the Bass Angler world to a whole new level in his generosity of sharing knowledge without reserve, and I’m applying it to my Bass fishing enjoyment which has increased in multiples. Man, what a blast I’m having in my retirement! Thank you Randy!

  11. Have a great day, don’t go woke. If Trump doesn’t win, they will turn this country into socialism, why am I saying this, it will affect our freedom to go fishing.

  12. Randy, why do you think that everyone has to think the way you do ? Someone else can't have a different opinion? It's your way, or you're wrong. Then you start calling them names like smart-as* and dumbas*. You made a video saying that if anyone used profanity in your comments, you would delete their comment and kick them out. That's called a double standard, Randy. I've never called you any names or used any profanity in any of your comments. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. I think you should take a long, hard, look in the mirror and ask yourself the question. Has this FFS topic turned me into a different person? I think there is a good person down deep inside you. Let me ask you this, Randy? Why do you think the anglers who do not like FFS are so against it? I feel its because they don't know how to use it, and they dont want to take the time to learn how to use it. So they, in turn, try to have it banned. Oh yeah, im not in that age group you said we were in. Im 50 years old, Randy. I just feel a different way than you do, Randy.

  13. Great video. I am a salt water kayak fishermen who fishes in shallow water almost exclusively. When I fish the South Texas shallows, I only know how to fish the environment. I am literally searching for Red Fish tails, water swirls, birds gathering, water slicks, bait fish running, oyster reefs etc. I would never even consider any type of electronics other than my Gopro.
Thank you for your videos and education.

  14. I think it's only a tool…. It's still hard to catch fish on ffs…. I don't use any besides a castable deeper pro+ …. Castable sonar.. I like good ole fishing… I'll never spend that much money on that stuff

  15. The cost of ffs keeps a lot of people from having it on their boat, the regular sonar is dirt cheap and very good , will the ffs in 5 or 10 years be a standard feature like the side scan is now on the mid range fish finders

  16. The guys using the cheater stuff are simply trying to rationalize using commercial fishing technology. If netting was legal – they'd do it. If electro-shocking was legal – they'd do that, all under the idea that it's just another modern techology. These guys aren't "sportsmen" in the least.

  17. Also, one more thing…

personally, I think the "Biggest Lie In Bass Fishing" is "Pro tournament anglers are sensitive, responsible front-line conservationists."

THAT'S the biggest lie in the game.

  18. I wish I could get my generation (I’m 34 years old) to understand the detriment of livescope fishing to the sport of bass fishing and even fishing for fun or food. We’ll all look back if that technology doesn’t get banned and wonder why our lakes don’t have any fish in them.
