  1. California's largest white sturgeon is also the IGFA world record at 468 pounds, "officially" weighed, not estimated. California also has photos from the 1890's with white sturgeon "estimated" at over 1,000 pounds.

  2. I’m watching through most of the video waiting for Missouri and thinking that there’s an awful lot of small fish on this list. Very satisfying smashing of the previous states, then an insane escalation. I was not prepared to be beaten by close to an order of magnitude.

  3. You should say specifically the difference between grass carp and common carp. The one in NJ was a grass carp. You used a picture of a common carp and just said “carp” why not say catfish for all the states with catfish? There is a huge difference between a grass carp and a common carp. For one a grass carp isn’t even a carp. A grass carp is a white Amur. They aren’t even genetically close.

  4. I figured Missouri would have been a sturgeon. We got 2 kinds live in the Missouri river, shovel mose and the pallid sturgeon. Not surprised it eas a paddle fish though.

  5. A couple points of contention(and I do like your vids, just am a bit of a homer as I live in Michigan!) Michigan got shorted 2 spots! 193 lb lake sturgeon is larger than the 179 gar(Louisiana) that's one spot ahead, and the 181 lb white sturgeon from Montana. Also, at least the last 3 white sturgeon might fall under the same disqualification as salmon, as they are andromous and it appears they were caught in rivers with direct(no dams) access to the pacific.

  6. Biggest freshwater fish in maryland was actually a 9 ft 512 lb landlocked bullshark that was 1 of 5 bullsharks dnr let go In deep creek lake in 1973 and 4 was caught in the 70s but the 5th was caught 1983

  7. WTF kinda rig you runnin to pull in these monsters???? The biggest I have ever caught was an 81 pound Blue Cat on Texoma. I caught it on a jug line though. So I don't really consider that my goat.

  8. I’ll have you know, I once caught a 23lb carp in el Reno, Oklahoma as a 9-year-old, and it sure felt like the biggest first in the world. So I feel it should make the list, how could you!

  9. Crap aren't a game fish, they are a invasive species and should be treated as such.

And those Lake Sturgeons are tiny little buggers. LOL. And I can guarantee that the White Sturgeons in the Snake River and Columbia Rivers used to get MUCH bigger! Like the weight of the record in Oregon. Family photos has my great grandfather putting one on a buck board wagon and it's easy was over the seat and it's tail was hanging out over the tailgate.

  10. I caught a blue cat in the Ohio river that was 72 pounds. When I realized he wasn’t even close to a state record is when I knew the Ohio river has monsters in it
