The jerkbait is hands down one of the most effective tools for catching bass, especially when the water temps drop. However, it is also one of the most technical baits to fish correctly. If you are throwing a jerkbait and not getting bit, or you see fish following the bait but turning away, it is likely due to a subtle error in your presentation.
In this video, I break down the 5 most common mistakes anglers make when fishing a jerkbait. We are going to cover everything from the importance of “slack line” to the rhythm of your cadence. These small adjustments are usually the difference between a zero-fish day and a limit.
Stop guessing with your technique and start fishing with confidence. By fixing these five simple errors, you will trigger more reaction strikes and put more bass in the boat this season.

I've been kinda vibing the bass pro shops jerkbaits. They're really cheap, but the bass seem to like em just as well as the name brands.
This video was oddly arousing 😂
Jerkbaits are so slept on where I live.
I never used a jerkbait until I started getting into inshore stuff. After that, it became one of my confidence baits for winter time Specks, I was like, "I bet I could catch bass on this." The small ones like the 1/8 oz pins minnows are KILLER for trout too.
I know this is a broad question, but do you think it's more natural for a jerk bait to slightly sink or slowly float?
The colder the water gets, the more bites of a ham sandwich you can eat between jerks. Great video ‼️.
Thanks for the info good sir. Ive been jerkbait obsessed this fall and had great luck with the provoke series. Jerkin it for smallies feels so right! (Had to, sorry😂)
