Join us for an early springtime bass fishing session in northern Illinois as we chase largemouth bass in tough windy conditions! We’re out on one of our favorite lakes, fishing from the newly rigged NuCanoe U10 kayak, dialing it in to become a serious fish-catching setup.
Despite 20 mph winds and chilly temps, we managed to land a couple of solid bass using a Deps B-Custom Spinnerbait paired with a Working Class Zero Micro Citizen swimbait trailer, one of our go-to spring bass fishing lures when the bite gets tough.
Spinnerbait fishing for bass in spring can be hit or miss, but it’s still one of the best ways to target big pre spawn largemouths as they move up. If you’re into kayak bass fishing, cold-front fishing, and the reality of fishing windy conditions, this one’s for you!
