This video captured an exciting Spring float trip in late May 2025. I was able to float this stretch before a major storm came through, but it was nice weather all day for fishing. I lost count how many fish I landed, but it was at least 30 smallmouth bass and a couple rainbow trout. I was hoping to catch one or two really big smallmouth like I usually do this time of year, but I did not see anything over about 2.5 lbs on this trip. I know the big ones are there and I will be back to catch them again. But even the mid-sized ones were a ton of fun. Every time you hook a smallmouth you think it might be a big one at first with how hard they always fight.
