  1. Another factor in Scott's story is his advocacy and care for the health of Lake Okeechobee. Lake Okeechobee has been a big political thing in south Florida especially with how the lake and the runoff affect the Everglades. They also spray chemicals in and around the lake and he literally could have been asking how the treatment of the lake is affecting its ecosystem. Dumb on BASS's part.

  2. There should be a * by the winners name, since the best local pro didn't fish. As a competitor I would want Scott to be there, because when I win I want to know I beat all the best in the game.

  3. So Well said Mikey,
Glad to see somebody defend a great guy. Tournament Fishing rules are out of control. People are turning away from Bassmaster. It’s become a joke

  4. I agree. He’s a stand up honest person and I think the DQ was totally overboard and the punishment certainly didn’t fit the crime. Mikey you’re right on target with both points there’s more to it and it set a dangerous precedent. Peace brother.

  5. If BASS wants to regain their credibility then they have to enforce their rules no matter how famous the participating angler is.If they had not DQ,d Scott it would have been unfair to the rest of the tournament anglers. It was a stiff penalty but a necessary penalty.

  6. No one seemed to come to defense of Matt Heron, who fell victim to the same rule and quit BASS because of it. Prominence in the sport shouldn't effect the way the rules are enforced. The rule is flawed but their enforcement of said rule had been consistent.

  7. The thumbnail is pretty deceptive and not fair to Scott man. Some people are dumb and don’t research things and seeing your video might steer them in the wrong way. Not cool

  8. Sad , scott is a great guy and you are so correct. He is a great ambassador for bass fishing , the state of florida , and lake okeechobee . Seriously like someone could help scott find fish on big O. What they are doing is ruining the sport , when you tell your stars not to talk to the fan base that is a quick way to lose viewers 😊

  9. Mikey, Mikey, Mikey… When was the last time you walked down the sidewalk and got hit in the head with an Oreo Blizzard? Never! Because DQ doesn't fall out of the sky. Rumor is there's a video that makes Scott look really bad, and Bass had no choice but eliminate him from the derby. They did him a solid and let him form his own narrative.

  10. Seems to be a lot of info out saying other wise luke dunkin said bass was sent a video and contacted Scott so if that's true that's not self reporting . Anglers are saying 2000 percent bass was sent a video of him if that's the case he'll yes he should be dq what else could they do

  11. You forgot to bring up in this video. The angler's wanted this and when it doesn't go there way, they feel the punishment was too harsh. Yes, a rule is a rule, you may not like it because you like said Scott. It just wasn't one incident there were 2 incidents per him live on Bassmaster. Go back and watch the video.

  12. Totally agree, you can get information about a lake 3 days ago and majority of the lake has already changed! Look at wind directions alone, which changes daily and affects fish.

  13. Dude Scott's a standup guy who's like you said made his own way and his own brand. When he first came out I was a lol skeptical of him bc his dad but it didn't take long to see he's his own man. It says a lot about his character he told on himself.

  14. Dq was completely unnecessary. Just took his chance at aoy and the classic for asking how the water looked a month before the tournament. A dq was bullshit screwed his entire season why even fish the rest of the tournaments if he can’t even make the classic

  15. I sent an email to BASS for this ridiculous DQ action. Scott has done a lot for their organization’s visibility over the past few years. Information from 3-4 weeks prior is of no help. We all know that. Thanks for your video support!

  16. MB you are spot on with this brooski! This is complete & utter BULLSHIT ALL POLITICS!!!!! Scott Martin is one of the Biggest components and advertisers for the entire bass fishing industry. It’s absolutely a bad look for BASS to do this to him especially after being straight up honest reporting it.

  17. 100 percent on. Bassmasters have more drama then school girls . Is it about fishing anymore . And on the other side I don’t think Boyd is a financial wizard . Your channnel whips em both . You’re a great representative of bass fishing YouTube worth. keep it up

  18. I like Scott and you both. I think you’re spot on with what you said about how they can be setup. The shame is a few people might actually do it. I just don’t understand why folks like to be miserable all the time. Crazy

  19. The rule is written terribly, it needs to be updated, the guy basically lives on the lake. If you are taking a dump in the bathroom and two people are having a conversation it means you could get DQ'd, hell what happens if someone spoofed the cell number of the tourney director and get everyone information you DQ everyone. The whole polygraph this is beyond idiotic. Remember shrink that sphincter when telling a the truth so change that your normal response, thumbtack in shoe and a million other ways to cheat it. These old boy, luddite tournament management chuds. Booo! Good thing Martin worked his butt off so he likely doesn't "need" tournaments, but this really hurts his chances at getting back to the classic and he's a pretty good at being tops in the angler of the year category. Second time he goes out of his way to notify of an infraction and he gets smacked for his truthfulness, meanwhile other anglers….. get slaps on the wrist. Botting him from his home lake, guess someone wanted to clean out the competition.

  20. I think they should have a panel of like 7 anglers that decides what the penalty should be for these type of rule infractions. Give them all the information and context of what happened and let them decide the severity of the penalty.
