  1. I really like how quick it is to set up and it's pretty lightweight when deflated.つつ>share4.photo/PKayak?23     It wiggles a little when you paddle, but considering that the bottom isn't like a regular kayak, I'm not surprised. It's great for people who don't own a truck or have a roof rack! It's compacts nicely. My only complaint is that the plastic connection on the paddle that connects the outer paddle to the middle portion broke my fourth time using the kayak. Otherwise, I love it!

  2. I just bought this exact kayak used for $200. It's my first kayak and I look forward to doing some fishing and touring with my metal detector to remote beaches. Like Matthew said below it is 11ft6 inches. I measured it when I got it home. Also this Kayak is made in Canada. Good luck with the fishing.

  3. Hey I just recently bought a pelican castaway 116 and I'm getting some water in my "dry storage" area and I believe this is do to the seal on the cap! has anyone else experienced this and how did you fix this??

  4. Jesus kid. How do you own this thing and know so little about it? First, you said you didn't know the model… It's a pelican castaway 116. It's right on the boat. Second, you said it was about 9 foot. That's what the 116 stands for! 11 ft 6 inches.
Two additional points for other commenters: Yes, a cooler will fit in the stern storage area. No, the front hatch is not air tight and is certainly not a live well.

  5. Do you still have the pelican?  I was wondering if you ever had any leaking (at the scupper holes).  Apparently some people have had a breach in that area (where the plastic gets thin or something)  and leaking started.   Was wondering about your experience?

  6. I have the same kayak, and it's 11' 6" long. Your pointed tools will poke holes in your dry bag container. I recommend getting something like a large empty yogurt or cottage cheese container, and push it down into the bag to protect it. My boat is a bit wet, with some water splashing up through the scupper holes. I bought some rubber stoppers at Ace to plug the holes, but if I get water in the boat, I just pull a plug and let it out.

  7. Thanks for the vid man! I just bought the exact same yak from Academy Sports. The only difference I can see is that mine is lacking the storage compartment just aft of the seat 🙁 Strangely, there is an outline where it should be. I haven't even put mine in the water yet, lol.

  8. Nice I'm getting the same one just sold my Jon boat it was a pain to store and hook the trailer up just want something I can throw on my truck and gain access to any pond or lake. Plus kayaks deal better with wake in a busy lake where a Jon boat will sink.
