4100 fishermen have signed up.
i can't have any good fish in my ponds for otters as bad as wolves in mn. they kill down at bennet springs
A friend of mine has a pond on a bluff above the Ohio River. Dont think for a minute that a bluff (that I couldn’t climb) is any problem for an otter to climb just to murder bass.
They ruined a lake around here ! A st park < game warden said people like looking at them <I didnt know they just kill fish for fun ! But i knew they killed fish ! Especially Bass ! Thanks for the tips < peace man !
Put a couple alligators in there. Probably fix the otter problem. I have heard crappie and otters kill ponds but I catch a lot of big fish at ponds that have both. Sometimes it's just been pressured a lot and 3 acres is real small. After COVID, every public pond in the state seemed dead for a couple years. They're coming out of their shells now that folks are getting bored and going back to whatever else they did before.
I was a river guide in northern cal on the sacramento river when it was one of the best wild trout rivers in the country,I would take the hipster trout fishermen and women to fly fish out of my boat, then on a good stretch I would see about five otters,I would tell them we are going to move and they would break out the cameras,oh the look at the otters,so cute,I would try to explain why they aren't so cute, they didn't care,so for 4 hours we would get two fish,it didn't matter, they seen those cute otters.
it’s rough because otters are so freakin cool (i know they’re not cool to pond owners lol)
i hope you deal with that situation
Well that's not the video I was expecting. I'm really sorry for you Dale that's a jewel that you lost. Kansas is over ran with them too… My private pawn got hit 3 years ago and it's not come back. I'm not going to go on forever I've got tons of stories about them too. I'm sorry for you brother I know how that feels . God bless Dale
I have a question if you can/will answer it. My question is which fat rap were you referring to in the video from a few days ago. I have not had any success with any fat rap.. I would give them another try if I though I was not wasting my time. Thank you
Good video. Thank you
The back story is people are keeping everything
I see it all the time
More people starting fishing during the Covid era
You may be right about otters In Missouri but here in Florida it’s people keeping everything
Think about it 50 panfish a day and 5 bass a day
Do the math
Must be what happened to the pond I fish. I used to could catch good fish on jerk baits in winter. Last two winters I can’t get bit. I’ve seen two otters swimming there. Maybe that’s why I can’t get bit
It happened back.home in Washington state, the local crappie lake, and big bass ponds were hit hard, and never produced well after. Local fish agents are misleading folks to keep limits, of already low population on the lakes. Sad its all effed up.
maybe Randy ought to bitch about the 'natural' otter population LOL!
thank the Conservation department for re-establishing the otter population
I still have quite a selection of pork from the 80’s. It just catches bigger fish.
we gottem in florida too….maybe not as much as some places…..we got big gators too
I am with you big boy I have seen them on table rock a group of six not good.
Totally understand man! Have that problem in Virginia too!
Sound like you got some trapping to do, Stupid otters
I agree, the otter population is way up from a few years ago. I see them all the time on service calls or signs of them.
You may have solved my mystery of why I can't catch bass on my home waters. I have otter and beaver in the area of my river system, noticed the otters in the last couple years.
I give ya a like but that don't mean I like Otters.
They have hit my pond hard. The biggest bass I've caught lately weighs in at a whopping 3/4 pound. Even the lowly bluegill are scarce.
I feel ya brother. There is a 2 acres pond about 1-2 mile from my house. Full of bass, crappie, cats and bluegill.
The owner sold the property and now a 750,000 sq ft warehouse is going in which means they fill it in with rock. The day they do that, I will cry like a baby. Sad.
