Any suggestions for upstate NY winter bass fishing?
Thanks for information
I want to design or have someone design a shirt, hoody etc….. That says "Just like That".. Randy kills me when he is explaining things. But I'm just picking atcha Randy. I have learned a lot from watching your vids. And remember, Randy dose it "Just Like That"
These YT gurus will put anything down every month as top 5. They don't even have reasonable reasons. Midwest doesn't even count. In Commiefornia, the bass are deep in the winter, so most of the gurus' baits are a joke. How they come up with this stuff is baffling.
Megass bladebait catches fish vertical like that. However, the tail is too tick for proper action. Easy fix. The biggest issue is that either going down or coming up,the action is impede. I don't remember which. I know that for a fact.
Talking about winter and bottom fishing, you still need an all plastic lure. No, they do not prefer small baits in winter. They actually prefer larger baits for that meal for winter temps, but feel free to believe whoever you want. It's all conjectures. I'm just teaching from personal experience.
I'll put my ZMan TRD up against all 5 any day. Slow, slow and slower in the Winter.
Thanks for the recommendations Randy. A couple of questions: 1) I am fishing highland lakes in Northern Cali for mainly spots. It seems fish are still chasing balls of shad offshore. Do these baits work best when the shad start to die off? 2) It seems hard to find small scrounger heads in the size you mentioned. Any idea where to buy em? I did't see a link in your list?? Appreciate you.
I commonly use the first four baits you had shown. The nanahan I haven't tried yet, it's in my box but the weather up has been down right the pits. Thirteen inches of snow last week and a mix since. Lake effect is in full swing. Put yourself around walleye and snap jigging the lipless works on them too!
Do like the look of that jerk/crank….may have to pick up a couple…2 lures I like to toss in cold water that most don't….double willow white/shad spinnerbait slow rolled near the bottom & a soft plastic crawfish imitator on a wobblehead
