Conditions have been tough on Lake St Clair for bass fishing. The weird weather patterns, the rain runoff creating muddy water low visibility conditions and high winds haven’t been helping the bite. Opting to avoid those high winds, I diverted from Metro to Harsens.
On this day it got into the seventies, but the water was still cold. Given the fact that I had to throw only Googan baits as part of the Team Googan Offical Bass Tournament, the odds of getting on some largemouth and/or smallmouth bass were NOT in my favor…or were they?
Check it out to find out hat I did to change the odds in my favor and get on some BIGS!
The Gomexus replacement handle for my Lews Mach SMASH definitely saved the day. Here’s what I did to improve that rig: https://youtu.be/4q1ANAnXNu0

Catching up, brother! Nice video! You're awesome at getting footage while getting to your spots. Those waters are pretty cool, I've always wondered if there were monsters in there 😳
I'll take those dinks any day. Great to see you are on the board with that 18.5" large! Good luck with the rest of the tourney!
Awesome action Joe! You ended up catching some biggins! The little guys need love too 😁 any day is good when you are catching them one after another. But this tournament is my worst nightmare hahaha. An all googan bait tourney. I've never used any googan products before. I can't find myself buying any. Same with 6th sense. If you had to choose a hard bait from googan what would it be for someone who wants to test their products?
Great to see you back at it and a very nice session. 18.5" not your best, but a great start to the year. Best of luck in your month long tournament and damn, you now have warmer days than we do LOL Well done Joe, Cheers!
That was an impressive outing Joe and congrats on that hawg around the 8:00!!
It was one after the other and you explained very well why and where the fish were at. Great episode!
Good job nice fish, great video. How cold is water?
TOAD! This warm snap threw them into pre spawn. Caught about 15 lbs for my best 5 at metro in an hour and a ½ the other day. Love the zinger. Never tried the klutch.
.
Good times! Really nice color on those fish.
That 18+ aint a bad start. Always fun to see you out on the skiff. Looking forward to seeing all the RLDL vids coming up.
Another awesome video. What the average depth n those canals?
Nice air temp and a great catch early on. What a day, the bite was on fire – fantastic day of fishing Joe. Way to get on the board
Liking the opening scene 👊. 1st cast snag the a fish💪🏻. Beautiful bass at 5:30 mark! Healthy one. What was that little green piece on the line near where it was tied onto the spinnerbait? 18 1/2” inches….heck yeah 🔥👊. Cool with the one hitting u at the Skiff. Great video and day on the water Joe!
Was there Saturday used the same spinner all day got 5 bass a 3 pounder with a bucket mouth and a pike. If you don't have a strike king burner, definitely give one a try
I have that same combo – got a father's day deal on it 🙂 – great for cranks/spinners/small topwaters
I swear spinner baits are slept on. They work good for stained water especially with the Colorado blade along with the willow leaf.
I need to find this spot on Harsens 😂😂 Great video as always
Nice video, and I like the way that you narrated 👍🏻
Never give up! Never surrender!! hahaa
Nice outing Joe. To bad no contender for the tournament
LFG!!!!
The water was a bit dirty
Awesome video Joe!
