I wear my vest but half the time I forget to clip the kill switch line on me in case I’m separated from the boat. I now hang it on the steering wheel every time I stop to remind me to clip it on.

Congrats on the win but that dude had a tough time paying you, local tournaments like that can be a pain in the butt, my buddy and I used to bang the locals hard but the only one to deny us from entering was our home base lake, they changed the rules to you had to live on the lake not just have access, I lived across the street from the lake but my house came with access.
Great fishing. I hope the fish survived. We don't need to be losing 7 pounders from the populations that are getting beat up harder every year. As for the life jacket thing, I appreciate the words. But i believe it's also state law, so from that point of view it's understandably required.

I remember when i was a kid fishing with my dad in a lunker hunt tournament it was the classic at the end of the year. Both me and my dad caught monster fish, we couldnt tell which one was bigger, and they wouldn't let us weigh them to see which one is bigger, we had to pick one so we picked my dads and his was big enough to win 1st. We convinced them after that to let me weigh the fish i caught, and it ended up being bigger than even my dads! I looked around, and all the good ole boys were PISSED! it was hilarious to see their reaction to a little kid beating them 🤣

You guys need to listen to yourselves. What you are doing has nothing to do with FISHING. What you are doing is video gaming and destroying the resources in every lake or stream in which you hold competitions. It is obscene and destructive and utterly immoral. The competitors by and large have zero respect for the resource and the degradation of fish quality and numbers proves it. Tournament fishing is an abomination and if it is not outlawed, it will complete the destruction of one of the true joys of life for millions of people.
