  1. When you are fishing that deep. Does the float of the braid affect the way you fish it? I keep a 4000 spinning reel with 8 lb sniper fluro on it for fishing on Smith Lake in Alabama. I have never thrown a underspin on that lake but it’s a herring lake and Casey Ashley won the Classic on a Herring lake in So. Carolina with that horse head underspin his father poured him up. So I am going to have to go up there this fall or winter. I hated that lake until it got invaded by bluebacks. I still don’t have a clue how to fish a lake that deep. Not a lot of deep water on the Coosa. It’s like going from fishing in a muddy shoe print to fishing in a giant bathtub full of tap water. I like fishing bluff walls with stair steps with a little Texas Rig or a finesse jig. But that’s in the summer. An old man I had never met taught me that technique when he saw me fishing docks and catching nothing. He was just sitting on his dock shelling peas and he gave me a 30 minute lesson on how to fish a bluff wall directly across the slew from his dock. I caught 10 nice spots just casting onto the top of the wall which was dry and barely dragging a finesse worm until I learned to feel the fall and watch my line. I was sitting in 100 feet of water, casting straight up onto the top of the bluff. That is the only time I have used straight fluro on a spinning reel since I finally decided to trust a connection knot that I tied a leader on with. I hate to tie 10 or 15 lb braid to 8 lb fluro worse than I hate fishing the spinning rod it’s on. I am farsighted as heck and I hate tedious stuff. I’m no watch maker

  2. Great video I was curious as to why such a long leader? Maybe it’s a largemouth bass thing and water clarity. I use the under spin fishing for striped bass and Northern Snakeheads in Maryland. I use about a 3 foot leader since the fish follow the lure and it’s a chase/reaction strike half the time if not more.

  3. I am seriously considering fishing with my eyes closed. The backward cast really made me realize that I have a lot of “feel” I need to develop. Awesome video. Thanks for posting it.

  4. One of your best teaching vid! I fish on Hartwell where underspin is huge and now I know what I was doing wrong as newer basshead! Keep up the great videos and let's kick some MLF @$$ DD!! If you ever offer one on one technique training – I'll buy the first 5slots guaranteed!!

  5. It's kinda crazy, the "Pros" at local tournaments won't even tell you what lure they used at the weigh-in. You literally just showed us gps coordinates, lure choice, and retrieve. This really shows how real pros keep their competitive edge with skill, not secret lures and honey holes.

  6. Dud the stud can u show us how break down mapping channel swings humps ditches ext maybe on water seminar how fish set up in winter pre post spawn simmer bass migrations maybe some fish on sonar u catching
