How To Catch The Biggest Bass In Your Lake – Full Seminar

Want to catch bigger fish? Want to catch the BIGGEST fish?! Targeting big bass requires a different mind set and a special set of skills. You need to set new goals, approach the water, weather, and environmental conditions differently. It might even require a bait or two you’re not familiar with. But when you set the hook on the biggest bass you’ve ever seen, its instantly worth it! Dive in to today’s full-length seminar and learn everything you’ll need to know to catch the biggest bass in your lake.

Tim does an extraordinary job of teaching what you’ll need to know to be successful. Catching bigger bass starts with a shift in your mindset. You’re no longer on the water trying to catch fish, you’re there to catch ONE fish. None of the other bass in the lake matter as much as the single fish you’re pursuing so stay focused. Fish when the weather and environment are working in your favor, and success will follow.

While giant swimbaits are a huge part of consistently targeting BIG bass but there are other baits that will also catch these fish. Knowing how to “trigger” a feed response is critical. Baits like jerkbaits, crankbaits, and Alabama Rigs all play a key role in this method. Its also important to understand when conditions simply aren’t conducive to big bait fishing and you’re better off with a finesse approach.

Below is a breakdown of the baits and equipment Tim recommends as you pursue the biggest bass in the lake.

  1. I disagree. it’s all based on geological location. Also you never once mentioned you’re not throwing one of those big ass glide baits on your little Walmart spinner combo and believe me there are people that will try it.

  2. Outside of California, I don't know of many places that present huge trout-like swim baits. California is a state that is incredibly unique to the rest of the country. Florida strain bass in an ecosystem that is perfect for growth coupled with stocked prey that helps to accelerate their growth. It's one of my favorite states to fish, but for those of us in the mid-west, 7-9lb fish are true monsters. 10-13lb fish are nearly unheard of.

  3. The only cons where I’m at, theirs too much structure and grass. I bank fish and having a bigger rod will hit those trees around me. And the amount of vegetation in the water will hook that exposed hook on them swim baits. And I also fish with small rods.

  4. Amazing video, it always amazes me to see people disliking your videos, idk what more you guys could give us, such an informative channel. This channel is underrated should be up there with Jon B. I never skip your ads either cause I know you don't get revenue for skipped ads, love your channel so much it's worth the minute wait, my little way of giving back to you guys! Love you guys keep up the good work!

  5. I hunted my DD for four years pretty much almost everyday there at the lake and learning the ebb and flow of the lake how, when, where the big bass hangout it four years until I found this stretch of maybe ten feet of the dam where the big pre spawn bass stage before they move on. They wouldn't take a swimbait but they hit my drop shot tiny fluke and that's how. I got my DD bass I haven't been back to that spot but I believe if I go back at the right place at the right time they'll be there again but bthe lake has changed so much from that time the lake is up like 30 feet since then.

  6. So im just getting into swimbaits now…. for a beginner i want to go with a rod that will mostly cover the whole spectrum from 4"-12" baits and in the 150$ range, i found this 7'11" 'okuma guide select a series swimbait' rod that i think might suit me as the all around rod "for now", its a fast action, line wt 15-40lb, lure wt 2-10oz, extra heavy rod for $139 any thoughts please? I still dont understand, do i need a medium power fast action, or heavy power medium action rod?

I know you and Matt have different opinions, even though i do lean more towards Matt's style of fishing. Nevertheless i need help, I've always wanted to get into swimbaits and now you got me going. Even tho i said to myself that i wasn't going to spend any more💰 on fishing crap and just use up what i have. And then you had to show up.😒

Oh and by the way, THANKS! For this great vid, sigh….. im at $650 in my shopping cart(not funny), and i still yet to find a reel.

  7. cant rent a boat because of covid.. so stuck on the limited shoreline can fish.. the bad thing they are two small coves close to the main ramp.. heavily pressured by shore and boats.. so worst spot for fish to spawn.. though they do spawn here.. im sure all the bigs aren't at these spots.. its sad for me. the hunting tip is golden.. so on rentals here.. they have a little metal piece welded up high on its nose.. what I do is kill the motor and then sit on that front area and use the paddle to paddle the boat around the shoreline around points and into coves ect.. I try to let the wind do the work also.. but its true.. I see a lot of fish.. but mainly because im not using the motor. even big ones.. the bad thing they are so smart though.. they actually come look at the boat notice it then go deep.. so its even better to not even take the boat close into those areas and cast as far into prime areas as you can and hopefully the bigs don't notice you and go deeper.. they are so smart at Castaic. even stripers and bait here don't like to notice you.. when they boil.. ill be on shore they will be going off and staying up top, boaters don't get it well some do but some are noob.. the noob ones will take their boat into the boil and the fish will disappear.. the better boaters will stay 60 yards away and cast into the boils and the fish will stay up longer. though at same time I have actually caught fish behind fast boaters going semi close to shore where I could cast behind them and blamo.. though those weren't huge monsters. fish sometimes don't mind the noises ect.. though I would say if its perfectly calm out and quiet be quiet if its windy and loud its prob not so bad. ive also seen huge fish jump at the ramps when they are busy with boats and very loud. its crazy. but I like to be stealthy.

  8. Tim, as a bank angler, can i throw these 6 inch baits and be effective or do i need a boat.

Also what knot wud u recommend. Can u use a uni knot to tie the lure to the leader if i wrap it 8 or 9 times?

  9. İf I am Fishin in limited time like the sunset and I have 2 hours. When and how I should decide to go finesse from giant baits? As it gets dark or gets bright during dawn, would I be missing prime time by shifting???
