If y'all ever wanna catch giants, I snapped off a 7 pound shoals bass on a whopper popper on the ocmulgee. I was in a kayak and I was reaching out to lip it, it was about 4 feet away when it snapped.

I put in on the north side of lake Harding yesterday and went up the river. My goal was to make it up to the shoals but I don’t know the lay of the water. So once I started getting super shallow I turned around and fished right where the river opens up a bit. Caught a 2lb 12 oz shoalie and a 4lb largemouth. Even though I didn’t reach my goal destination, I was still pretty stoked.
Now imagine that Shoallie on a fly rod……..you know you wanna….

Shoal bass have been in that river before anybody ever dreamed of a dam. You're goofy pal there needs to do some research.
Your buddy has his facts mixed up. While his argument may have hold water as far as that particular spot, a species as a whole, shoal bass are getting screwed by dams. They can't handle slack water and silt, i.e. dams. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to show dams sucks for native fish.
Gonna have to take a trip out there to GA from West Texas to catch me one of them Shoal Bass before than Dam goes out
