GIANT BOWFIN caught fishing for BIG largemouth bass!!!
I headed out to the river to fish for largemouth bass with my family, it was a beautiful cool morning an only the second time in 2022 that I had a chance to actually do some fishing on the river. We headed upriver in the boat in hopes of catching some big largemouth bass but to our surprise we started catching giant size bowfin fish instead. #bowfin #riverfishing #largemouthbass #angler #lure #catchandrelease

Bowfin or shoepic where I come from should NEVER be released they should be destroyed, the highly aggressive bowfin seriously deplete bass,crappie,and panfish population in small estuaries and ponds,thus removing bowfin will ensure a better chance for healthy populations of sport fish.
I think you guys would have a better positive hook set if you changed the way you are putting the hook into the lure… But it still looks like you were having a great time… 🙂
Did you check to see if your hooks were sharp. I just bought a bunch of new hooks and over half were dull.
