  1. Well Randy, I took the time to read all of the reviews on this video. Now my 2 cents worth. I can't afford FFS or the other high electronics out there. I still throw my Texas rig worm all over shallow and deep. I still catch the bass I always have. I am retired as you know. I don't fish tournaments only for fun. I release all my fish. I even have my livewells in my Ranger boat plugged and put other equipment there. I can't afford those $15.00 jerk baits. I buy a lot of Zoom bates but that is just me. I go with what I have success with. I don't enjoy MLF anymore because all these PROs are not looking around, just faced down at their electronics. Hey, they are fishing for money to feed their families. I don't blame them for that. The true PROs like yourself are fewer in numbers. I don't know these young guys. They are driving these $135,000 Ikon bass boats. That is not reality for most fishermen. I have a $2700.00 Ultrex trolling motor and am very careful when I deploy it. It was expensive but no problems as yet. It is 3 years old. Oh well, keep up with your fishing tips.

  2. i disagree with this but can respect the opinion…. I have FFS and 360 imaging. I fish all of the following techniques with FFS. Crankbaits, spoons, jigs, texas rigs, ned rigs, chatterbaits, glide baits, hover shots, big swim baits, TUBES….. I'd say 90% of my FFS "spotlight" catches are on either texas rigs, jigs, or cranks. So it effecting tackle sales is really irrelevant. I think whats effecting tackle sales is the COST of the tackle itself. You realize it costs almost $6-8 just to rig a simple texas rig ?!

I guess what my point is that i'm trying to make is you dont HAVE to use the typical hover shot, drop shot, damiki rig to use FFS. I'd actually bet the majority of anglers if you asked would tell you they havent changed their buying habits. I sure all hell know I havent changed my tackle buying habits to accomodate FFS.

  3. When does AI begin winding them in? Cut their power and they will cry for their daddy! If they lose power during a T, you will see a “man” crying on ESPN! You fish like a man! RANDY, LET’S START A BRAND, FISH LIKE A MAN

  4. Tackle wharehouse had 2023 revenue of $621 million dollars, 6th sense fishing had $49.1 millions and Berkley had $24 millions… Yea they are hurting from FFS. C'mon man there is no way this one thing is killing the tackle store industry.

  5. Randy I think you have this a little mixed up , the tackle industry isn’t going to suffer at all from FFS , it’s going to be us , the consumer who have to deal with the fantasy that livescope displays when it comes to ANY new product
Virtually anything can be thrown in front of a bass and they will eat it. WE KNOW THIS it doesn’t matter what it is , a can , a jenga piece . A literal slice of dog shit , if you know for certain that you are in front of a fish , which is exactly what scope does , then we know they will eat it , which gives legitimacy to ANY lure it doesn’t matter what it is , so it’s going to become that much harder to differentiate between what is & isn’t truly worth our money

  6. Check out the bass pro tour on Toledo bend all the top guys are hover strolling with little fluke style baits . they want to sit there and tell you how hard it is, which is a bunch of bs if you have a good graph good wiring battery so you can see your bait anybody can do it Wesley Strader spent the whole winter practicing because he did so bad last year and he’s up in the top five so it isn’t all that hard I used to really like watching those tournaments now I’m just not that interested it’s boring

  7. I like your videos, but regarding this topic, you're full of it. A very small percentage of fishermen use ffs, heck most people fish from the bank. ffs is too expensive to be used by the masses, and that is not gonna change anytime soon. Tradional fishing methods will continue to be used by the masses, and tackle stores will be fine. It's simple economics, Randy. I am starting to wonder how much of this you actually believe and how much of this is just chasing clout.

  8. I can't believe the trend towards premium high end fishing lures and equipment. I am just shocked by the idea that people are measuring themselves against others based on whether they have a $100 rod or a $450 NRX or a JDM $800 rod. Just like boats and electronics, fishing has become one big pissing contest. It hasn't always been like this.

  9. i’m starting to delve into the videos of muskie fishing using livescope and that scares the ever living shit out of me what will that do to the muskie population it’s scary to think about

“fish of 10 thousand casts” becoming “fish of 10 thousand dollar Sony Dreamcast”

  10. I watch and like your videos and I have learned so much from your videos. I am not a FFS guy, BUT I find it funny that you have partnered to Tackle Warehouse who is probably responsible for a greater percentage of damage to smaller tackle shops then FFS ever will.

  11. You're no different than the companies you are criticizing. You do what you need to make money. Controversial topics get you more views, more views = more money. If you truly believed what you are saying you would not have Tackle Warehouse as a sponsor since they sell your dreaded FFS. You would also try to find a depth finder company that doesn't make any FFS and use and promote their products.

  12. Definitely NOT A FAN OF FFS its boring. Thx for the videos I really like the educational ones. Could you do one about the perks of using tungsten over lead. I fish the upper Chesapeake and Susquehanna flats alot snags galore and just can't bring my broke self to spend the money on it. You also seem to be the most ballsy guy on you tube could you shine some light on who is cheating so much that ever fishing podcast you watch hints to. Maybe no names or names but definitely what is going on and in what league. Hell i watched one this morning that threw Wheeler under the bus. Do I continue to think highly of him or not???

  13. Tackle manufacturers may be struggling because traditional bass fisherman aren’t willing to pay $15 for a spinnerbait or $20+ for a decent crankbait or jerkbait.

We all know about inflation levels, but tackle manufacturers have gotten greedy. Anglers that would normally buy multiples are just buying a single or two.

  14. I'm near Lake Hartwell. All kinds of lures go up and down seasonally and certain new lure go fast for a short time. That being said…all categories that aren't good with FFS have drastically tanked in sales. Almost all the people who fish tournaments around here have FFS….and since they buy the great majority of all lures I sell…..that's why it's like I said.

  15. Very interesting. I know this is a bass fishing channel, but do you think the same thing will happen to crappie fishing? Many crappie anglers seem to be going "all in" on FFS.
