We’re giving Lake Konawa another chance this year. It’s home to Florida Strain Largemouth Bass which makes it very popular amongst bass anglers. This also means these fish a heavily pressured and the fishing can be tough. The grass was still alive under the water and the bait fish were pushed up in the coves and we saw the bass going crazy.

I live about 40 miles from lake Konawa. I have fished this lake for over forty years and have caught several torphy bass. I believe if I remember right my biggest ones were 4 over 9 lbs and one my P. B. Was 11 lbs 4 oz.s I always tube fished it in late March and April around the full moon. We flipped the cat tails as this is when they are spawning. I never killed not one of them took pictures and released them. I'm to old to fish now and physically not able to get in and out of the water plus several old shoulder , neck and back problems plus being 77 years old has put a stop to my tubing. But guys this is a great lake give it a chance it isn't as good in the summer because of the water heating up do to being used for cooling of the turbines. ( best in the spring, fall, and winter.) Be safe and hope you catch a big one.๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
