This has been the year of the swimbait for me, so why not fish it during the longest string of 100-plus days DFW has seen?!?! There is an old saying, “90 percent of the fish are in 10% of the water (lake, creek, etc). Today, I put that to the test on one of our local ponds. In the end, two of my favorite swimbaits are destroyed by bass forcing me to make a discovery that will change my next trip as well.

I love bass fishing and offer bass fishing tips not as an expert but only what works. Lately I have been getting familiar with swimbait fishing. The dark sleeper has become one of my favorite summertime swimbaits for fishing in the summer. I also love the action of the keitech swing impact. For big bass I tie on the magdraft swimbait. Megabass swimbait fishing may truly be my favorite new go to for lakes and ponds in DFW. Summertime bass fishing in this area can be brutal. But catching summer bass makes it a lot more bearable. I hope my experiences increase your fish catches and provide some entertainment along the way. I thank each of you for watching these fishing videos and hope to see you out there searching for ThePerfectCombo Fishing.
Awesome bait selections! Those are my favorite swimbaits for sure. Great bass catches and crazy how that cat hit the sleeper like that. Bummer you went through 2 different megabass lures but hey you were catching so its all good! And I've never been able to get a drop shot going at my ponds. Those dang weed lines. Totally agree about the 90/10 rule especially for smaller ponds.
Wow, great action on all those different soft plastics I really loved that dark sleeper I hope I heard that right anyways I bet it would be bonkers fishing trout
