How To

Fishing NEW YORK CITY for GIANT STRIPED BASS!

In this video, I head up to NYC in hope of catching my first striped bass!
I was ecstatic to hook into one, and was in disbelief at how big the fish was once we got it in the boat!

Dimensions of the fish were 47″ x 27″

I learned a ton about trolling and how to target these giant striped bass in salt water. It was an incredible experience.

In most of my other videos, big fish are all released. Unfortunately, that was not the case here, as this fish was eaten shortly after being caught. In all my other videos, fish will be released.

Thank you for watching, hope you enjoyed the video, and learned something about how we targeted the striped bass!

  1. In NY on the Hudson River you cant even keep the big ones anymore due to overfishing I guess. They have a slot limit now I think the biggest you can keep is 31 inches South of the GW Bridge and 28 inches anywhere North of the GW Bridge. I can appreciate the rules and limits to preserve the species but its sad that its come to this. Thanks for the memories Ty πŸ˜„

  2. Ty I just showed my brother in law this video. I was telling him and his brother about the striper fishing in the USA… And they sounded very interested. So I did a YouTube search on "striper fishing" and "VOILA!" there you were at the top of the line up! I've caught some monsters on live trout, Zara Spook and live mullet, and other stuff… But the biggest one I ever hooked snapped me off after 45 minutes of fighting. These guys were excited to watch you do NYC right. Congrats. Fish of a lifetime. 🐟

  5. A so beautiful fish should have been released… But I saw in a comment it wasn't your boat and not your rules… I just hope he didn't die for nothing and so, that he was cooked…

  6. Glad you had a great time in New York, man. And congrats on a beautiful striper. Wish you'd released it — the 20-year-olds really need to keep spawning; they have the strong genes! — but really glad you hooked into that monster. Tight lines always.
