I disagree on reeling it back in after the first couple of hops now a preface is by saying I'm doing this from the bank but 50% of my hits are coming one or two feet from the edge of the bank and I'm jiggling it almost subsurface almost to the surface watching it wiggle when I get hit. So maybe from the boat that's probably accurate but if you're on the bank and you probably should have addressed it since you have probably a lot of fisherman who watch who are fishing from the bank. It's almost a reverse perspective if you're fishing from the bank a lot of times you're going to be dragging your worm and your bait into the cover instead of away from it. This past summer I had a 6 pounder just suck it up 2 ft from the bank.
What size mm crossover ring did you use for the clout senkos from 6th sense
You’ve lost an incredible amount of weight and are looking great my boy
Definitely gonna try that way
Love the wacky rig thanks Nathan for the tips
I think it depends on the specific senko you use. I'm able to get 4-5 fish on a single yum dinger, but only like 1-2 with a Yamamoto. Yum dingers are definitely stiffer and I find I need to use like a 1/8th weight to get the same action as the Yamamoto
If you want to use a cheaper worm that doesn't have the same amount of salt content e.g. Yum Dinger you can use a weighted hook or add a small weight above the hook. IN some cases, you'll get even better shimmy.
I experimented with many other brands of Senko's, and all the ones I tried did not perform as well. UNTIL, I saw a video years ago where a guy using his backyard pool with underground camera did comparison's between the Yamamoto Senko and others. All the others did not work nearly as well. EXCEPT… The Bass Pro Shops house version. Flutter rate and everything else mimics the Yamamoto Senko and MUCH less expensive. You can get a back of 30 of them for a very reasonable price.
Good tips in the video. I've been using Green braid to flourocarbon and the green braid floating on top of the water is a definite aid to detecting bites as this method of fishing does not keep you in "touch" with the bait like fishing a texas rig, shakey head, etc with a weight attached. I also use the Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap Weedless Hook and like it a lot.
I totally agree with yellow line. So easy to see if a fish has it. Also, even if your on a high pressued grass lake, that yellow line is nothing more than a piece of grass to the fish. I will use a leader some times but mostly braid to hook. Good video.
Great vid. I started my wacky journey in the same fashion. I like the idea of the longer shank on that hook and the worm keeper. Lost many of those Yamamoto senkos. What size of a hook do you prefer? With the circle I used either a 1 or 1/0. Would the similar size in the drop shot hook work?
Your thoughts on the Core Tackle wacky shot.
I fought going to a braid tofluoro leader forever. Last year I finally made the change, mainly because the older I am getting the harder it is to see/watch the line, and I am glad I made the change. Like you said you can cast farther and it does make watching the line 100% easier to see. I also recently picked up the new Core Tackle Weedless Wacky Shot jig/hook, It comes in 2 sizes, 1/8th & 1/28th oz. I went with the lighter 1/28th oz so if you want to use baits with less salt content, it will get them down faster, but at 1/28 oz it still is a slow enough fall. I only used them once so far and was very pleased with the results.
Great video!
If you want to try a great hook, try the Ryugi brand! WOW! The thin wire/hook diameter, slick coating makes hookups easy and they are as strong as a heavy duty hook. Once you try them you won’t be disappointed!
The trick is a zip tie and run the hook under the zip tie…..and cast a bait caster instead of a spinner … there's no skill in casting a spinner..so Educate your thumb..!
Great tips. Do you use a #1 size hook when you use the red line hooks too? Thank you.
Great tips. Just found your channel tonight and this is the second of your videos Ive watched. Certainly believe watching your videos is going to teach me a lot about catching fish rather than me just "going" fishing. Thanks for sharing. Good luck and
God Bless !!
Nathan, you have a lot to learn about fishing a wacky worm.
VERY well explained. Thank you.

Articulate. Subbed.
Wacky rig with a weight in it is goated
I appreciate the excellent content and thorough explanations. Do you prefer the hook positioned parallel or perpendicular to the Senko? Keep up the good work
I wish I could afford to do the Gary Yamamoto baits.
I am poor. I have to use the cheaper stuff.
Not saying that I haven't splurged on a few nicer baits recommended by your channel or a few others. I have. With how quickly worms can break down though, it scares the hell out of me to use anything expensive. Especially on a wacky rig. Because everyone says…wacky rigs catch fish, but the worm breaks quickly.
So, if I am going to have to spend 5 bucks on a pack of Strike King or Zoom or 9-15 bucks on Gary Yamamoto ones… knowing they are going to break down quickly, as a casual fisher and not a tournament fisher, I have to be very budget friendly.
That part is just economic reality.
I know that some of these Googan and Yamamoto baits are really good. High quality. I just can't afford it with plastics.
I would love to get your take on the new core tackle wacky shot hook pretty neat looking I ordered some
Excellent video. You cover things with great detail. Your videos are the most informative and insightful of any I have viewed.
Nice video and well explained, love the content

Seems like when I fish wacky, which is most of the time, the fish will hit it almost as soon as it hits the water. Otherwise I’ll reel it in after it hits bottom and recast.
I love the sufix promix line….i use 10 pound promix to 30 pound braid
Congrats on the weight loss
Another great video. Keep up the good work. Also, you look like a completely different person. Congrats on all of your successes!
Fantastic
